I thought about taking it up to 4000 rpms once in a while. after i hit 500-600 miles.
I think the best way it is drive it at different loads and different RPMs. Rev it out every now and then. It’s made to go up past 7000. You don’t have to abuse it but rev it out man. I’ve always heard it’s good to drive at varying speeds and RPM during break in.

I'm currently on PUP 5w20 with no tick. But, I'm going to switch over to regular PP 5w20 for the following reasons:

-It’s still full-syn GTL base stock
-It’s SN Plus rated while PUP is not
-It’s Dexos 1 Gen 2 rated while PUP is not

Also, for the guys still running the Motorcraft filter — please note that it’s not the best construction nor does it have the highest efficiency. Check over at BITOG forums for some cut and posts. The oil filter darling over there is currently the Fram Ultra Synthetic with its 99% efficiency at 20 microns or greater.

A Fram filter getting good reviews on BITOG? I never thought I would see the day come when that happened!

Lol that’s exactly what I thought when I got back on after a hiatus of 7 years. Back when Purolator was king. They call them Tearolators now.. You can imagine why.

Thanks for that as I am using PUP 5W-20 with FL500s filter. I will be switching to Fram next oil change.

Pennzoil lists it as API/SN and Dexos certified on their spec sheets. They just didn't print it on the bottle. All certifications of Pennzoil of lower grades are maintained and/or exceed with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.

Any one use the DRIVEN specfic coyote oil or the new Oil for Direct injection?
I have 10qts of DI30 sitting in the floor. Hoping to change this weekend. Not really expecting much change, just trying a "premium" oil. I'm running Mobile1 5w20 right now and will be sending out to blackstone.

Np, just make sure it's the Ultra Synthetic! I have one waiting for my next change.

Nope, check out the spec sheet for the PUP 5w20. It's Dexos 1 certified but not Dexos 1 Gen 2. It's also API SN-RC certified but not API SN Plus. These are listed on the PP 5w20 spec sheet though. I'm not saying PUP is inferior, I just want to have the oil with the certs.

PUP is also not listed on the Dexos 1 Gen 2 list here: http://www.gmdexos.com/owner/brands/dexos1/index.html

OK, I have to admit you're right on that one. I was perusing oil brands and found this. Any tried it yet? It has the highest shear strength of all 5w20 oils that fall in this category for the 5.0L engine.

In fact, QSUD 5w20 has the highest shear strength rating of any 5w20 off the shelf oil. #10 on the list.

Lost of talk on bobistheoilguy about 540 Rat testing methods. I wouldn't take too much gospel in his test data.
