Im creating this poll in the General Mustang thread to get an idea on how much of a problem this is based on a wider audience of 3rd gen coyote owners. I hope this is allowed.

Rattle at 2K RPM and up. 18K miles and the sound hasnt become any louder.

It might, not 100% sure, as it has always made clicking noises and what not. My car has seen more track time at full throttle than it has normal driving on the street, no problems yet.

Just drive it!!

Im beginning to think the new rattle is actually normal not sure about the BBQ tick though, literally every car it seems has the rattle. I always use remote start and let my vehicles warm up before I drive them so I wouldn't see it being an issue since most say it goes away upon warming up. It seems like not every vehicle has the BBQ tick but almost all have the rattle.

Wonder if its the rattle that is more prevalent over the BBQ tick though.
Both are present in 100% of 2018+ cars as we have found already in the issues section. Most have blown up to pieces already per the youtubers. Those still driving around should be considered lucky.

Mine has an intermittent tick/tap but itā€™s not consistent and it has full power, doesnā€™t use oil. Zero fawks given at this point.. still under warranty.

Mineā€™s a 16 so I didnā€™t vote.

My 18 has the rattle when cold and the intermittent tick at idle when warm. 2900 miles, car runs great so I am assuming it's normal. I voted "yes" in the poll.

It's strange to hear the noise(s) in a brand new car and engine and compared to my 2017 Ford Fiesta ST- another Ford product and also nearly brand new with 8K miles on it the engine is extra quiet- no rattle, no ticks at all- cold or hot.

I've had the rattle since 250 miles. At 4,400 miles now. Car uses 1/2 qt of oil every 1,000 miles (first change at 2,000 miles still with the blend). No noticeable loss in power. I've never heard the tick. Only engine mod is a JLT catch can.

My ā€˜13 Focus ST was the same. The only thing you heard from the engine bay was the DI ticking.

Considering this forum is a good spread of people around the country, I would have to say that when you have almost 1/2 of the people currently with a tick, makes it a little more common than 2015-2017 GT's.

Lookie what I got.. Just got my first oil change at 1000 miles in the 2019, did not make any additional tick on idle, service manager at new dealer I go to advised to stick with the synthetic blend until about 5k miles before changing over to full synthetic, so I did 5w-20 blend motor craft.. I was able to get 1 bottle of the XL-17 in case. The invoice said I was charged 8 quarts, guy who did the oil told me he put in 10 when I asked how much was put in, the 2019 oil stick marks are a bit different than the 18, the bottom hole was covered, dont think the top hole is, will definitely recheck the oil level tomorrow.
