I found this pretty interesting. Skip to the 10 min mark when he goes into detail about why a non numbers matching 427 Cobra is not a big detriment to value.
Well sure that cobra could be in pieces and bodywork sliced with a chainsaw and it would still sell for stupid money.

I personally don't care an iota about something as retarded as numbers matching. But I will screw the seller as hard as I can for the best deal and play that card to the hilt.

Lmao, that’s right up there with people that claim they have cash in hand. The person that claims or acts to be the smartest in the room is almost always, not.

A nice fellow I've met at the track a few times has a 2017 and has had his engine replaced twice. Once because of some valve noise and now a second time because of an unfixable oil leak. Oddly enough neither engine had any other issues and ran very well. He tracks the car hard. His servicing dealership seems very good. Next time I see him I need to find out which dealership he uses.

Do any of you guys have a contact # or email to any of the regional customer service rep? I have already requested multiple times to speak to one and I keep being told no.

You call the Ford 800#, state your concern/frustration and you will be assigned a Ford Regional CSR for your area. You will also then be assigned a Case # by the CSR, which will put your vehicle at a priority level for repair efforts.

I absolutely wouldn't pay the same amount for a car with a replaced engine as I would for one that has the original engine. It has nothing to do with numbers matching. I realize the engine can have a defect, but there's always that doubt in my mind that the previous owner did something wrong, and that it could impact more than just the engine.

I would want something extra - more warranty coverage, a lower price... something.

Maybe I'm unusual, but I think most people would move on and look at another car instead. So maybe a replaced engine won't KILL the value, but I do think it will negatively affect the value of the car.

You don’t need your car back… phone a friend at the dealership or just head down there and snap a photo.
Haha phone a friend, ok sure. You actually think they would let me in their service department just to get a pic of the engine wow. I'm in no rush to give you guys a photo of the builder.

Interesting… my dealership lets me in the service department all the time when my car is there. All I had to do was ask…. Whatcha got to lose?.. or is this story really real?

Sadly it is a thing to discredit OP on engine failure threads. Not really sure why but I have seen it happen a few times. It is a bit sad to see

Don't really know why people expect you to waste your time and drive down to the dealership just to take a picture of the engine builder plate as if that will do anything to resolve your problem.

UPDATE

My car has been at the dealer for 31 days now, they finally diagnosed my car last week on Tuesday at day #22, service tech said he ordered the new engine that same day and it arrived on Friday so Ford did a hell of a job getting to the dealer in 3 days. So i had already contacted the dealers 2 COO, service director, and service manager via email to let them know I was angry at the fact that my car wasn't being looked at, I Never received a response. I send them another email on Monday tell them Ford customer service called me to advise the engine had arrived at their dealership. I received a response from the service director with bad news tell me the installation would start till Sept 22 and would be finished till Sept 27. That is some BS, I understand everyone is struggling with staffing issues and all this damn broken Ford vehicles in their service dept but come on no sense of urgency what so ever. The waiting continues.
