Finally made it out to my first full event of the year last weekend on the new MCS coilovers. These were picked up secondhand from a friend who only does laps at Road Atlanta on Pirelli slicks. They came with the MMR GT4 spring rates which are 700F and 900R. I currently have this setup paired with Steeda competition swaybars set to full soft. Tires are Yokohamas that are a little over a year old and down to their wear bars in the middle grooves. Ended up 2nd fastest in the morning heat even though I coned away 4 of my 6 runs. My fastest run of the day was actually with a 250lb passenger in the car. As the course rubbered in and the pros got on course for the later heats I fell back considerably to top 25th overall on raw and 19th on PAX. Had I not clipped a cone with my passenger we would have been 20th overall and 15th in PAX
Not bad for a first full shakedown of the car. Spring rates still feel like a lot, but my car is also still full weight so it could probably use a little more than what some of you guys are using on your cars that are much closer to class minimum weight. Going to pull some toe-out of the front as the turn in is almost too quick and then going to take a few clicks out of compression and rebound for the next event to see if we can't get a little extra grip before it's time for new tires.
