  1. SCCA CAM-C Thread

I'm pretty sure all Fords do. I always wanted to know if it cuts both the injectors and the ignition? I'd hate to be washing down the cylinders when doing that but it doesn't backfire or blow a bunch of black smoke when it starts so I'm assuming it cuts both. I sure hope so because I'll do this...
  2. Rear End Sway- Problem?

I very much recommend you check the rear wheel hub bearings for slop. They are way undersized on these cars especially when tracked or autocrossed. I've replaced mine twice and consider them a consumable item. Make sure the parking brake is not set when you check them.
  3. Gt350 or Supra

Both are awesome cars and as you build your car experience either will be great example of the breed. My advice is get the one that is more available since both can be difficult to source. Then, most of all, take the car to an autocross and learn how it really feels at and beyond the limit in a...
  4. How do you guys deal with the D^MN parking brake spring?

With the spring extended (brake handle down) thread a couple of zip ties into the spring, in at the bottom, out through the side at the top. If you crimp a 90° bend into the end this is easier. Pull the brake handle up, tighten the zip ties (I've been able to compress the springs just by...

Yeah I was there when he discovered it. Funny how he was complaining about the "compliance check" before but probably wouldn't have found it without the check. I think that was a prototype bar done for Steeda. It broke right a the weld for the washer that limits the lateral travel against the...
  7. SCCA CAM-C Thread

I typically run at 1/4 tank or less (like 25 miles to empty) and as far as I know I haven't had fuel starve or certainly haven't felt it. Granted this is a stock GT350 so I don't know if they do anything different for it and I don't pull the lateral Gs you guys with aero do. Next year I'll...
  8. SCCA CAM-C Thread

I talked to Jeremy last weekend in Lincoln. He was on the CRSs and said they were taking about half a run to get up to temp but by 2nd run they were fine. If it's hot I'd say go with them over the Yoks, if it's cold go the other way. I'm happy with my RE71s. This was a warm but overcast day...
  9. SCCA CAM-C Thread

Yep, front toe is simple. I marked the tie rods with which way to turn to add/remove toe and to track the number of turns. It's as simple as you imagine. I like the Longacre plates I bought from SPS because the tape measures they included are really nice for the task and the plates have magnets...
  10. SCCA CAM-C Thread

Buddy I would get the AAD arms and never look back but I'm in FS (sorry for invading the CAMC thread) so I'm stuck with Ford's "better idea". The flex head ratcheting wrench makes it much easier to get to, even on the drivers side. The real PITA for me is making the adjustment, put the wheels...
  11. SCCA CAM-C Thread

That upper link inner bolt is such a pain to get to. I bought this wrench and that's its only job. https://www.northerntool.com/products/klutch-extra-long-spline-drive-flex-ratcheting-wrench-16mm-x-18mm-32299 Also, the last time I fought the rear camber settings I rigged up this clap-trap just...
  12. New to me GT350 - bought on May 15th 2023 from Ford - Tons of issues -

I'd tell them to go ahead but if the rebuild doesn't fix it they'll need to replace it when it comes off back order. Balancing a driveshaft is not difficult for a driveshaft shop and servicing or replacing the carrier bearing is also no big deal. Could even just be a u-joint that is going out...
  13. New to me GT350 - bought on May 15th 2023 from Ford - Tons of issues -

Sounds like the driveshaft is either out of balance or the carrier bearing is sloppy. Minor issue, should be fixed by replacing the driveshaft. I'd wait.

BTW the PAX calculation actually throws out the alien drivers results. Rick Ruth described his process quite a bit on an autox podcast (PAX Attack) and it was pretty interesting. So, if Otis is getting PAX times even with "normal" fast drivers then the PAX is soft. Alien drivers should be way...

  16. SCCA CAM-C Thread

Wow! I'm glad they're essentially pressed in bolts but dang. I typically try to give everything a visual inspection whenever I pull the tire off. I've found loose or broken swaybar endlinks (not on my GT350) and broken suspension ride height sensors (on my GT350, twice). I'll check the torque on...
  17. Magnetic Numbers for HPDE

I prefer to store mine flat so I got a bunch of cheap steel cookie sheets from the dollar store and use one sheet per pair of digits. Nicely stackable and keeps them clean and flat.
  18. CAN bus mapping for Race Capture ?

Here is a picture that shows how I tapped the CAN wires on the Network Gateway Module. The blue and white wires are the CAN high and low data wires although I honestly can't remember which is high or low. The yellow cable goes to my RCT MK3 and I connect power and ground upstream in the...
  19. CAN bus mapping for Race Capture ?

I had to tap into the CAN+ and CAN- wires going into the Gateway Network Module. I have a 2020 and it wouldn't transmit the CAN data through the OBD2 port. I don't remember which wires I used but I can take a look at it in a few days when I'm back in town. I also pulled power from a switched...
  20. California Schroth Quick Fit Pro harnesses

To be clear, these are the PRO version, where the shoulder belts latch at the buckle right? Not the type where the shoulder belt wraps around the lap belt?
