Caliper studs are set with very little torque. Just double nut and you should be able to hand wrench them out.
Fear of this is why I went with Cortex bearings for my front tension arms. My car is too heavy and carries so much energy that I want all the strength possible when clipping curbs...
OEM gt500 pads are very good, and will stay quiet on the street. Cheap to replace, around $250F and less for the rear from rock auto. Just get the rotors turned, keep the brake fluid fresh, and send it again.
I voted GT500 with my own money, traded in my '18 GT350. It was a great and capable car, but after just 2 seasons of track use and constantly cam timing throwing codes, growing oil consumption, I just did not have a good feeling about it. The 8k redline is intoxicating, but the added rpm and...
I think they meant this one:
Red Line Synthetic Oil. 75W140 NS GL-5 Gear Oil (redlineoil.com)
I will try it as the 75w90 still gets pretty warm even with the cooler when I slide the back end more.
Yes, bump up the 0% cell by some 10-20%. Then clear the 10% to 90% cells and autofill them again to blend from 0% to 100%. On my car front 0% is 700 and 100% is 850ma, so really not much difference.
In the DSC you can raise the starting current on the front shocks to firm them up across the board - then blend that value with the rest of the table. That worked on my car. Eg. 600ma-700ma - max was 850ma.
For spring rate you can use AJ's kit or the steeda gt500 springs that are 350#
305's are a little skinny for the power level on the rear. The car has a lot of torque and it can make it hard to put power down smoothly mid corner and on the exit.
If you are in Aubrey I'm just a few miles up the road in pilot point. I've run 305 squared, 305/315 305/325 and now 325...
Between my '18 350 and the 500, tramlining was reduced by about 75% with similar offsets and alignments, and the 500 required much less trail braking to dive into corners. Some of that may be due to abs calibration refinements also, which the 2019/2020 cars got.
DSC Sport - I've had a good experience with mine, hope its not the outlier. Installed over a year ago. Over 400 laps and 12 hours of track time. I've seen less than 5 suspension mode errors, usually when driving home from the track. I did carry the oem controller as a spare to big events...
The apex et26 and et48 offsets will work no problem with oem sized tires. These cars have a lot of fender room, especially in front for changing offset.
These are the ranges I have used - this is lowered on steeda springs - 1/4" lower than cftp.
Front et30 - et16 with 305's and 315's. et28...
I think the GTD has the underbody strakes now, and the current 992 GT3/RS have them everywhere. Looks straightforward to replicate with some vinyl edging or 3d printed bits.
The DH has lots of the flat underbody panels now.
Gorgeous car. I would add ppf on the front of the rear quarters. There is a kit for gt350's that fits the same back there. The sticky front tires will kick up some debris. Not needed behind the wheels, the plastic trim stops it all.
There should be 2 other boxes of parts with the car. The front splitter side canards and the oil catch can separator. Make sure they are there or can be ordered.
It will be a great drive home, the car can go from smooth and mellow to firm and rowdy in the different modes. Try them all...
