This, and Waze sucks because people report a "speed trap" any time they see a cruiser. It could be parked in a driveway on the opposite side of a divided highway, but Waze needs to tell you "speed trap ahead". And then, of course, everybody needs to panic brake down from the comfortable 10-15 over the limit they were doing to *exactly* 55mph. Same with "debris in road" for a cardboard box 20' off the shoulder.
For me, Waze just shows there is a cop. It's a guessing game as to what said cop is doing and exactly where they are at.

I hear ya though... there are pro's and con's to it. Best defense though is both Waze and a detector.

Waze is pretty good in Edmonton, city of speed cameras and sneaky officers.

I used Waze when I lived in Virginia, it worked for the most part; although I did get a ticket in Emporia from an unmarked cop.

A little off topic but kind of related:
I've tried using Android Auto Waze on my Mustang but whenever it gives me a voice prompt it also resets the volume on my music (Spotify). Has anyone else experienced this? And have they fixed it?

Google maps sometimes resets the volume but it's super rare. Waze would do it every time.
I noticed with the 3.4 SYNC update there's an "audio volume" and a "voice prompt volume" when navigating. Same happened to me a couple times when i turned the volume up or down during the voice prompt.

That's always been an Android Auto thing.

I have the audio/prompt volumes set differently. My issue is that the waze prompt always causes the audio volume to go from 10 to 6.

Does anyone here have an Escort Redline 360c?

I just ordered one and need advice on what mounting unit and power cord to get - I want to get power from the mirror.

TIA

All the other methods listed will work with the Redline also.

Here's my setup:

My car has the driver assist package and I'm able to hold my R7 in place with their big suction cup on that plastic housing. I couldn't bring myself to spend the $100 for a blendmount holder, even $50 would be overpriced IMO.

I was able to mirror tap it fine, I just did what this guy did:

Thanks for the photos, i have escort max360 and been looking for mounting location and i have the safety package as well. Didnt think would work to great there but i like it. Which dash cam do you have, that is also a location i never would have thought about, its out of the way and doesnt block the view. What are your thoughts on it located there with going through menu and things like that? or is it one of those things where you set it once, its hardwired so just on and off with car and dont think about it again?

Does anyone have the rear dash cam setup in rear windshield area? Does it work well with window tint? I have been thinking about installing rear louvers, should I not get the rear dash cam if going to put louvers on rear? Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Once summer hit and I started seeing 100° + heat that mount started failing and the radar detector started falling. I ended up buying this one since I can't justify the $100+ that a blendmount costs.

This is the camera I have:

I used an eBay mirror mount that I had laying around. I had a Blendmount on my C7 because of the way the mirror was shaped, but they are pricy. This little $20 mount does the exact same thing. I use a V1 but they make them for every major detector.

I then wired directly to the passenger fuse box. Super simple and done in 30 mins.

I too have a V1 and use the suction cup mount directly to the left of the interior mirror. Since the V1 uses telephone cable, I placed a phone "coupler" at the top of the windshield. Then, I just put the V1 in place and plug it in when needed. I made up a short pig tail to keep it neat.

This works great for moving a V1 from car to car. I have the same setup in the Excursion and Interceptor. I can post a photo if wanted.
