Question...do laser detectors block as well as let you know you've been hit?
they only "block" if you have laser shifters installed on the front of your car

Valentine saved my ass the other day. Rural road went from 55 to 40...i was doing 65 ;) V1 goes off about 3/4 of a mile before a hill...trooper sitting at crest in between 2 bushes couldn't see him at all and nobody on Waze reported him.

Yah for laser, all detectors you are screwed but I am loving my V1 every time it gives me an extra 3/4-1 mile notice to slow the F down :)

I have both a 9500ix (about 5 years now) and Valentine V1 (which i just got about 3 weeks ago). Both are great. V1 has the directional arrows and tells how many signals it's picking up and the strength. ix has false signal lock out. I like both equally but the ix is a little better to me for the false signal lock out.

Plus, speed does kill. :tsk:
Disagree with this, I live in Germany where we have unlimited autobahns and 60mph (100kph) is a slow zone. By every single measure there are less traffic accidents and fatalities here than in the US. I am American btw and I love Driving here but hate it when I go home. it's hard to keep my mind on driving when puttering along at 55-75mph no matter how hard I try.
Stupidity, distracted driving, texting kill way more people than speed.
When the US increased the highway speed limit from 55 to 75

NHTSA said:
The federal data shows that in 1997, after the majority of states increased their maximum highway speed limit, the total national fatality rate reached an all time record low of 1.64 fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled (VMT)
so 'Speed Kills' is only true if you are speeding in country where the laws have made everyone mindless drones too bored to pay attention to the road.

There are different Logic modes you can put the V1 in to filter out most false signals.

The difference between the US and Europe, is that they allow any dumbass teen to get a license here. In europe, there are much more strict requirements, and testing. Europe make SURE the driver getting the license can drive. The US HOPES the teen can drive... and usually can't because they are busy texting.
