Having driven manuals almost all my life I can say with some certainty that the clutch feel and transmission is the worst I have ever driven and I am going back as far as a 1982 Ford Cortina (Europe)
However removing the assist clutch spring helped or at least made the clutch bite reliable and...
My son dropped his Charger Hellcat into the dealer for a replacement front strut, when he went to collect the car lots of rubber stuck to the rear wheel wells. Pointed it out to the manager who claimed it was like that when it came in. After a few choice words and threatening to write a letter...
I'm with others on this thread, regular oil changes from a modern reputable brand gets you to 90%+ of "performance" of oils, synthetic gets you to 98%+, super duper pink with added bits gets you warm and fuzzy feelings.
Change your oil regularly and any breakages will likely have been going to...
tried that with a drawer of black socks but after varying washes they discolor/grey at different rates and you end up with different shades of black/grey :) entropy is a b**ch
Tried using mine the other week but hole was too big and just made a mess on the side of the road. Any recommendations on an alternative mobility kit?
Running a non square setup so a spare isn't really ideal
I picked mine up with 4k ....kms!!!!! Previous owner liked the car but couldn't live with the clutch and transmission. I spent my first 25 years driving standard/manuals and I have to say it took me a few weeks to get a feel for it. (and only after I removed the assist spring)
I agree with the...
You can't please all the people all the time.
Several different types of owners, weekend warriors, daily drivers/commuters, track fiends, significant other who doesn't like any harshness.
MR is a pretty good compromise to meet those varying requirements, is it as good as a full on track...
Use any brand name synthetic changed at regular intervals (not extended) and something will break or fail related to a non oil issue 10 times over before you have an oil related issue. Beyond that use whatever makes you feel comfortable with, smells nice or has the prettiest packaging.
EDIT...
On the putting it in neutral at lights if I know the lights will be a long time I put on the handbrake , neutral and off the pedals completely. But the Mustang turns off its DRL lights if you put it in neutral and engage the handbrake.
The wearing out bearings etc was typically people who left...
Each of my kids bought their own car. I serviced them day one, repaired any defects, new fluids everywhere, new brakes rotors tires etc if needed. I could have bought it for them out of petty cash but the point was that they worked to earn money pumping gas working on checkout etc and they...
Sotty I didn't, just used the muscle memory torque meter and gave it a mild "umph" tighten, you know the one 10 or 20 percent below worrying threads will strip :)
Something is moving because the passenger arm is wobbling at the pivot point when I turn on the wipers. Haven't had a chance to properly look yet, at work.
Nice discovery this morning, put on washers and only the driver side wiper swept, the passenger side wobbled and didn't move. I assume the linkage has separated, anyone had this or repaired it? Any tips.
Guessing Ill have to take the shroud off and of course it'll be the side of the linkage in...
Leaving aside clutch feel (and that IS an abomination), my issues with the gearbox MT82-D4 are
Nibble going into gear if anything other than really warm.
Tactile feedback between gates, there is none. I have driven other European Ford manuals and shifting gears is an effortless affair you...
I like driving the manual, although the MT82 is the worst manual I have ever driven. But I have the A10 in a 2018 Expedition and that is superb and my limited runs in a Mustang A10 where its tuned for sporty driving confirmed that for an auto it can damn near read your mind.
And the Hellcat 8...
