Just as the title implies. Knowing what you know NOW about the S550 platform and vehicles in general how would or what would you do differently this time with your build/modifications?

Interestingly enough, my newly acquired S550 is my "do it all again knowing what I know now" project.
That's why I'm doing... As little as possible.
I'm on step one. Fixing what I perceive as issues. I re-insulated The shifter, changed a few electrical things, and gave it a modified active exhaust. Changing the brake pads out to ones that don't dust like crazy and a few cosmetic things.

I still need to get the transmission sorted because it shifts like total dog poop. If I can't get the MT-82 sorted, a TR6060 or T56 is going in.

After that, and the whole car is settled, If I'm still keen on keeping it, it'll get forced induction. And then it's done.

Only addressing issues. Not doing things just to do things or because other people are doing things or based at all on what other people think. Not adding whatever someone thinks is cool, myself included, but rather only modifying to fix a problem.

I feel this! When first getting into my mustang 2 years ago I was 23 and very much In ā€œfast and furious boy racer modeā€. Because of that I modified things that made little difference in performance and added huge down sides I.e. the cats I mentioned earlier. At 23 youā€™d be surprised how immature you actually are. I wanted the LOUDEST EXHAUST AND PEOPLE TO STARE AT ME. Now I just want a good sounding exhaust with enough performance to have fun down some twisty roads. I modify tastefully now. Weighing the pros and cons of performance mods and adding tasteful exterior styling. Less is more Always!!!

Iā€™m on my fourth build and thatā€™s the fun part for me. This one Iā€™m building similar to my last build as I miss that one a lot.

I would have gone with the Hellion Twin Turbo Street Sleeper kit, instead of the Edelbrock E-Force 2650 Stage-1 Supercharger kit. The Edelbrock has really been a pain. Worst forced induction setup that I've ever installed or used...

Definitely would have tried to get Recaros from the factory. I got a 2nd hand set eventually.

I wouldn't have removed the suitcase resonator for a cheap H pipe. I paid to put a resonator back in later.

I'd also have skipped the brake ducts because I went to bigger deflectors later instead.

Then there are the Steeda rear upper shock mounts in favor of J&M parts which have worked out a lot better.

The Steeda closed CAI was also questionable. Its mostly sorted now, but the fit and MAF signal quality were not great. I'd have done a different set of (more commonly used) injectors.

The tow hook I use is pretty good, but its very heavy. Probably would have done something different there.

I've got a ton of mods and most of them have worked out well.

Iā€™m thinking about running 2-3 more PSI in the tires.

Not positive yet.

Two things:

1. Iā€™ll NEVER buy another used Whipple kit againā€¦.friend or no friend šŸ˜„.

2. Iā€™ll never buy another non active exhaust, or sync 3+ car again.
