  1. Heavy GT500 wing and heavy duty trunk struts?

Those gas struts are commodity items that I can actually look up myself. Does anyone know the weight rating for them? I can measure the compressed length and stroke myself off my OEM ones
  2. Custom License Plate Illegal??

So I actually went through this a few years ago. In my state, South Carolina it specifically says that it's legal to have stickers on the license plate as long as it does not obscure any letters or numbers. So if you make a vinyl decal that say, covers everything except the letters and numbers...
  3. Laguna Seca Lawsuit: Hagerty bringing the sass

He's a smart guy, And he can apply his knowledge to other real world situations. But. I first noticed this when he was a bit upset that a rain delay in a NASCAR race was going to interrupt some other thing that he was more into. He calculated their on TV the maximum speed he thought he car...
  4. Anyone regret buying a ragtop vs a coupe?

I can drive top down year-round, and for the most part I do. So I don't regret having a convertible at all. In the winter people will assume I'm cold because it's 60° or whatever, but it has both a heater and heated seats. (It doesn't get actually cold during the day or snow here) In the...
  5. Installed S650 style headlights on my S550, thoughts?

I think it's really cool that you got them to fit... And from a usage standpoint I do like proper LED headlights. However I'm a big fan of the late S550 headlights, and not a big fan of the "sectional" style of the newer ones. I do feel like once they do the first refresh on the S650, they...
  6. What do y’all do for a living?

That's for the kids. I work for an established independent company that writes code to contract for the government.
  7. What do y’all do for a living?

Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour. I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too...
  8. The more I see the S650s, the more I know I've had my last Mustang for the foreseeable future

The general public is who buys the new mustangs. Repeat buyers are the minority of new mustang buyers. The majority are not even "car guys" they're just people that want a "cool car" and they happened to walk into a ford dealership. The target audience isnt really on here (unless they're looking...
  9. The more I see the S650s, the more I know I've had my last Mustang for the foreseeable future

I just want to point out that the target audience, the general public, cannot tell a 2010 mustang from a 2015 from a 2018 from a 2024. It still just looks like a mustang to them. One might look newer than the other for some reason, but they wont know why.
  10. Do OEM brake pads have squealer bars?

Well now I'm wondering what the hell pads are in my car. I'm assuming those are the OEM pads? I don't have that squealer.
  11. Do OEM brake pads have squealer bars?

If you have the performance package with the brembo brakes in the front, I know the front brakes do not... I'm standing in front of my car now looking at the rear brakes and I don't see one there either. Might be on the regular front brakes.
  12. Tailgaters

And it's not your problem. You are not part of the solution either. People have always sucked at driving. Enforcement has always appeared to be shit. You cant legislate and firmly enforce "proper" driving in the US for a multitude of reasons. So make thr best of the situation by being both...
  13. Best way to Jack up S550

Rhino ramps clear mine just fine. I use them both on the front or both on the back. Also when I need to do jack stands I have a low profile jack so I can slide it up under the rear diff, and by lifting from that center point The back gets high enough to stick them underneath the brace that the...
  14. Explain Magnaride

Short version of shocks: When the shock moves up and down, it's moving a piston that's in oil. That oil is controlled by valves. You try to move it fast and there's a lot of force and maybe some little plates will move and that opens up more holes for valving or maybe less holes because of...
  15. So I had my PP1 weighed on a CAT Scale…

Okay I know from driving my car It's pretty freaking heavy, but now I'm wondering how much my convertible, manual 5.0 every option including performance pack car weights.
  16. Do I really need the Performance Package?

I do the same thing. What I do is set the quiet hours of the exhaust to 24/7, that makes it always start up in quiet mode. Then turn on MyMode to my preferred exhaust options, dash, etc... So it's a double tap on the switch as soon as I get out of the neighborhood.
  17. Are there different speakers in a convertible vs coupe?

I didn't see it mentioned and I'm not an expert on it but the rear speakers on the convertible have a depth limitation that the coupe rear deck speakers don't have. So if you get aftermarket rear speakers you have to make sure they are not too deep, or they foul with the convertible mechanism...
  18. What happened to AM

I haven't worked with them yet but I did work with CJ pony parts three times now... And if it went without issue I wouldn't have any comment on their customer service. I did have an issue. I had something missing from my order that was on the invoice. They immediately shipped me a replacement...
  19. Ford GT style toggle switches

This is neat and all, but what I really want is to be able to go up and down for the mode switch... Lol
  20. How many miles before hitting redline ?

I think you inadvertently showed the flaw in your logic right here. It's not about how you feel about it. When you personify a mechanical device because you don't understand it, It becomes very easy to come to incorrect conclusions. The car itself doesn't know the difference between after a...
