I know Tim will build you a great motor...but I think it is a bit overkill for the intended application. Just my 2 cents and is probably all its worth. Where are you going to mount the accusump? I have considered it but really don't know where there is enough room in the engine bay. What level of headwork is Rich going to do?

If it’s worth doing.....it’s worth doing in excess !!!!

Far from the end! Others will have things to contribute and I still have an engine to assemble. Tim is only taking on the short block!

I like to disassemble things.
I like what I'm hearing Kevin and agree with the approach you've chosen and the rationale that led you there. Major kudos to you for taking this one head on. I really like the decision to sleeve. You are doing exactly what Ford engineers would have done if their budget would have allowed it.

I'll continue to be transparent with ya'll. If this blows up in my face and in 3 months I am sitting with a blown engine, I'll be transparent and investigate why.

At the end of the day, someone had to do it first - right? :D
This is why I love you and this thread Kevin. Fuck being thread of the year, this might be the thread of the entire Voodoo generation. Nobody's gone this far and shared this much at the same time. This shit needs to be a sticky in this forum and archived. You know everyone is following this realllllllllll close.

Good plan...it is certainly what I would have done or will do sooner than later. Anxious to see the dyno results.

:D Hopefully we'll be able to make it work out so you can see the beast in person during the August road trip!

Appreciate the kind words Jesse! You'll have to drive it when I'm done. Although, we might need to work something out for the seats since mine doesn't move and there's a bit of height difference between us :cwl:

Same. Trying to keep my expectations low, but really hoping for 530+ to the wheels with a smoother power curve (no hitch at 3.5K) and snappier throttle response).

For those who have experienced the "burp" of oil into the intake track from the drivers side pcv port there is a revised drivers side cam cover available but it is pricey.

I was given GR3Z-6582-A but it apparently is now KR3Z-6582-C which I am sure it is the correct one since it lists for $184...can be found at White Bear Ford for $122.03.

It has additional drain hole in it to let the oil out. Still best solution on high HP setup is vented catch can like what is used on 350 S cars. My engine bay is very nice and painted so I'm trying to keep the PVC closed system and have been using the Radium can setup for the Drivers side now and it has been working for AutoX and but I haven't tested it to extremes on the rd courses yet. Soon though. I plan on trying to modify my OEM cam covers and maybe save some coin. I will update then.

Thanks for the thread. My first GT350 broke a valve spring with less than 5500 miles on it so an upgrade has always been on my mind. Thinking of it more like maintenance at this point.

You could have your current valve springs swapped for the higher pressure PAC springs for some piece of mind or are you just keeping OEM for to maintain warranty options?

So finished up planning things with JPC this morning. Heads will be going out to RGR on Saturday. Expected turn around time 4 weeks. The wait might seriously kill me.

Of interesting to note, apparently have the timing chains have a fairly limited lifespan. JPC thought it was somewhere between 30-50k miles. I tried to confirm in the service manual, but couldn't find it. Either way, ordering a new set of chains. They're only $22 a piece, so not too bad. Also throwing in a new set of head gaskets, and piston rings.

Don't think I'm missing anything at this point? (Said very confidently) :inspect:
Considering the difficulty of changing out chains, 30-50k seems like an awfully short lifespan. Not doubting his expertise, but just wow. Yet another reason to maintain clean oil.

Thanks. I've used the Coyote covers in the past as that's what's listed in the online catalogs even Fordparts regardless of "R" or not. Did not know of the GR3Z number. Drivers side is the last resort for blowby, I'd like to see your modification.
