Thank you for the information in a concise format. Gosh, it is just such a customer friendly system! :doh:Ok, it's late but I'll give you guys a very brief overview. All this stuff is in threads for the 16s.
Priority code 11 or 19 mean nothing for most cases. Dealers often order in big units of say 20 F150s. Priority code 11 is before 12 and 12 is before 13 etc. when Ford pulls a dealers orders they do so numerically.if the dealer has only 1 GT350 it does not matter if it is 11 or 29. If the allocation and it is the only one it line and its time has come it gets built. Dealers will often use later numbers such as 19 so in case of an emergency allocation/vehicle replacement they can get a car moved to the head of the line.
Your ordering date is also generally meaningless-it doesn't buy you shit for priority. Many dealers are only getting one car and its "turn" is selected by a wide range of factors and is in the hands of the new car regional manager. Some small truck dealership can have bought into the program and is thus entitled to one car per year but that car may not be built until the end of the model year irregardless of when you ordered.
Material hold does not mean they are waiting for parts. It means that dealership order is awaiting assignment of a allocation to move it into the build phase.
Many regional zone reps tell their dealers when their allocations are assigned, by quarter, but many do not as they use the releasing of the allocation as a reward for other sales-this is also where surprise allocations come from......make a huge fleet sale of 500 F150s to some corporate farm and you just might get a bonus GT350.....
Please know, all SVT vehicles automatically go on a “Material Hold” status, Mr. Kit. You are welcomed to PM me with your dealer’s name and order number. I can check on it for you as well.I called them for my order and they confirmed it is line, but due to a "material hold" I will be waiting another 1-2months for completion . Wish I could get them to move up the order due to a track event at TWS mid October, but sooner than later it should be here. Thanks JMA406!
My car was built on 10/24 and just changed status to "in transit" a couple days ago, so I would guess this is not unusual. If you're in a region where it will ship the car by rail (as opposed to directly by truck), it's likely to take longer, as they likely fill the rail cars with vehicles for areas on the train's route. It does take time to build up enough vehicles to fill the train (whatever size it may be), and once it starts its trek, I'm sure it may make several stops along the way to offload to depots on the route.UPDATE: The car completed production on 10/26 and has been "awaiting shipment" since. My original ETA was 11/17...it was then pushed back to 11/23 and now it has been pushed back again to 12/4. Is this normal during the "awaiting shipment" stage in the process? Is this date accurate at all? Please feel free to share your experiences.
Sounds like we're in the same boat.My original ETA was 11/13, jumped to 11/12, then jumped to 11/18 (awaiting shipment for nearly a week), and just yesterday jumped to 12/5, still awaiting shipment.
Mine completed on 10/24....
So if mine is anything like yours, The ETA will likely push back again once it moves to "in transit". I wasn't sure if there was any chance that the ETA would move up to an earlier date once the car was "in transit"...according to Ford Performance, the ETA isn't accurate until the car is "in transit" so my fingers were crossed that my ETA might move back up to an earlier date then.Agreed ^. Mine completed production on 10/21 and was "awaiting shipment" until this past sunday. ETA was originally 11/9, then pushed to 11/19 and now 11/27, at which point I will have to have it privately shipped to me, so hoping to get it in time for Christmas but it seems to be a rather fluid situation. My sticker says "convoy" for delivery instead of "rail", which I thought meant truck, but my dealer yesterday said it's still awaiting a train but has been assigned a rail car, even though it's now supposed to be "in transit" according to COTUS.
Machsmith pointed out that it could be "in transit" twice if it needs to go to the mod shop for stripes, so that's another wrinkle. I'm not getting stripes but am getting the black roof, so I'm not sure if my vehicle goes to the mod shop or not. I would hope paint is done before hand.
As NHMATT said though, I'm just glad to be at this point, as it seemed to be in UMH forever. We're almost there!
