  1. Interesting oil consumption theory I hadn't heard

I had a couple engine builders in the early Voodoo days tell me this was an issue and it took some revisions on the piston and ring design to fix. There's some sense to it - a lot of the early custom Voodoo piston designs burned oil. I was told that the crank firing order of UDUD caused big...
  2. MCcloud RXT or OEM clutch

Not sure if this was directed at me - but I never had a clutch-related failure. My big ones were: Front damper/harmonic balancer, exhaust, and oil pan/pickup tubes
  3. MCcloud RXT or OEM clutch

FWIW - I've had a few vendors tell me that and guess who was the first failure. 🤚 No feedback on Beefcake Racing or these particular clutches - no experience. Just sharing my experience. If it were me, I'd only change the clutch if you've taken the gamble of adding FI to a voodoo. By then...
  4. 5.2L FPC Voodoo v 5.5L FPC LT6 "Project Gemini"

Yep - the problem compounds between the crank config and throw. I am curious what GM did with the Cadillac V-SERIES.R engine. Supposedly it's a CPC version of the Z06 race motor and they're turning in up to like 8800 rpm....which is interesting because the Z06 motor only turns like 7.4k (and...
  5. Head Oil Balance Lines...Archetype or MMR?

I like to surprise the wife unit. I get yelled at, but then it turns into an eye roll and the occasional sigh. If I try to forewarn, there are too many questions and protests.
  6. Head Oil Balance Lines...Archetype or MMR?

Trust me, you'll spend more time trying to fiddle with it than the 15 mins it takes to get the intake off.
  7. Bad news and good news....

The trick is to tear into your mustang and ruin it. Then you can wrench on a car you aren't obsessing over keeping pristine and it's still a mustang! JK - congrats. Wrenching is better for your mental health than a garage queen!
  8. 5.2L FPC Voodoo v 5.5L FPC LT6 "Project Gemini"

Also keep in mind the LT6 uses the traditional FPC layout of UDDU. Ford didn't like that layout's sound, so they went to UDUD to get a more muscle-y car sound. This introduced even more vibration due to the extra weight and counter balancing.

while I document and edit videos of the plumbing and wiring installs, I've begun planning my next item on the list - the roof and windshield. Plan is to trim the roof sides to fit and then glue down with panel bond to attach it. For the windshield, will likely also glue in so I have a...

Had an eventful weekend. First, got the car on the ground for the first time in 24 months and tested the air jacks with tires. So pumped to try this at the track I also used this as an opportunity to weigh the car. Real happy with this progress so far Had a bit of "doh!" moment when I...
  11. I think I castrated my Shelby….and I’m not happy about it

Agree with the advice here - E85 and offroad mid pipes are where the biggest gains are to be had. My car runs no cats and long tubes and I can't imagine that on the street. The rasp would be crazy. The burbles engine braking in the pits are awesome tho

This printer is cheating. Needed a way to aim my fire suppression nozzles at the headers. Whipped up a quick model in Fusion 360 and went out in the garage for a bit while the printer produced a model. Model took about 10 mins to make in CAD and printer kicks it out in about 25 mins. Next up...

Sneak peak at the progress I made this weekend. Still need to take more detailed pics and document everything, but all harnesses are done. Finished up the main engine and intake harnesses Intake will still need to be tucked up on the manifold a bit. Working on some 3D printed brackets that get...

Did a test fit of the center console tonight. Looking good, I think. Every day getting a bit closer to power up. I am 99% done with the battery disconnect and fire supression install, but waiting until I button it up before posting so I can show the full walkthrough. It's come out pretty...

Successful weekend making some work in-between watching the Rolex. On Friday, I got a chance to setup a new toy *cough cough* I mean tool. I'm late to the 3D printing party, but diving in head first now. A couple months back, I reached out to @5.2 liters of democracy for some help...
