Im not the one comparing a 700hp pump gas setup to 1000+ setups with e85, im saying a similar power level setup, a ess will outshine a whipple on terms of heat

im also going to again advise we keep the conversation of the forum post for why we went what route and if we regret it, that other than a couple of us, none of us are running 1200+whp and provide any valuable information by talking about fastest cars when in reality we should be talking about the 600-1000whp range as thats what most make here
Are you in your 20's? Anyway ok. I'm wasting my time here.

Anyone have proof of a 1100+ whp ESS set up? G4 maybe? I've seen 950whp with the G3R 100mm. 17ish boost.

I have a Centri blow with an A10 and from a roll with 780HP at the wheels, man it is fun as hell. Thing loves RPM and shifts every gear at 8000rpm.

I've had a few blower and turbo cars. I don't regret any of them. Though I'd like to do turbos at some point but my car doesn't even 7000 miles yet. Just want to be safe right now. I've turned this car way down just so it'll last long.

lol…clearly it does, if it can be discerned via typing on a message board 🫠
Nothing i said so far has anything to do with age, but its also not my fault im not born in the golden age of cars 30 years ago, if i could i would

err, mid-90's I don't think rates 'gold' unless jap turbo 4 or 6 is your bag...

That said I'd love me a Celica Supra hatch back with the pop-up lights and 2-tone square bodywork. Japan-market of course. But I think that was an 80's car.

I didn't read all 8 pages of dribble, but Turbo's are the way if price is no object. Being able to control the boost with an electronic Boost controller and dialing in the boost per gear, changing boost pressure on the fly, and the efficiency - nothing belt driven can touch a good turbo setup- Especially when the PCM is doing the work in OEM setups, but even aftermarket control systems provide much more capability and flexibility than something with a belt just cannot do.

Why do manufacturers of high performance forced induction products go with turbos? (Sure, the GT500 exists, but it would be a better car with Turbo's and wouldn't surprise me at all if the S650 GT500 had snails if they make one). Even your economy cars and trucks are all made with turbo's these days. No one uses belt driven power adders anymore.

C8 ZR1- Turbos
Porsche 911 - Turbos
Ferrari- Turbos
BMW- Turbos
Mercedes- Turbos
Audi- Turbos
Anything Diesel - Turbos

centri is notorious for heat effeciency, and any and all pd are known for heat soak
This was true up until about 2010. I was there. Yes, the old "HEatons" and B&M blowers were laughably inefficient. I measured one myself at 38%. Just horrible, though the low-end torque was great. But when the 2.3 whipples and eatons came out, it got much better and kept getting better from there.

The 2.65 Eaton peaks over 70% and maintains 70% efficiency until around 750 hp and 12 psi boost. We don't have a map for the Whipple 3.0 (or any of the ESS units), but they advertised the old 2.9 at 78% peak, which is right on par with state-of-the art centrifugal compressors of that same Rp and flow. Plus they are known to maintain efficiency at higher power levels and flows than the 2.65 Eatons. The fact of the matter is that the compressor efficiencies are very close between PD and centrif these days.

I have tons of data showing what happens to the charge temp of a Whipple setup over a long drive on a hot day. The heat soak issue is completely over-blown, Roush notwithstanding.

I did see it but i still think theres more at play with your data than what your saying...i couldnt tell ya whats wrong with the data that shows your story, but id need more data to believe it...ive seen a youtuber gt500 whipple swap making 1200 blow the motor cuz his temps went from 140 to 240, after one and a half pulls. Ive never heard of any ess setup on our cars even care about heat after all day racing sessions
Says he wants more data even after I supplied 3 datalogs....but then makes claims with no usable data.
