the third option on the left is where output controls can be used. by default it will probably be on read parameters, switch to control. chances are its a on/off

@ihasnostang
Thank you very much!!

I will forward this to my mechanic.
I hope the Ford workshop will have an idea what they need to check.

This is also, to check if differential pump is working properly right? :)

Wrap the exhaust pipes at least 1 foot before & after the differential with multiple layers of header wrap. And not the cheap stuff.

Heat is the enemy. I was at Sebring 2 weeks ago and it’s 100degrees here in florida USA. After 3 laps my car was pulling power and making the runs useless.
Engine oil temps were 298-301 which is above threshold. After 296 degrees my car pulls timing.

good luck, the summer heat makes driving these cars hard difficult.

I would recommend short shifting and revving to 7300-7500 rpm to keep the temps down. It’s the only way in extreme heat outside. That and upgrading the cars cooling capability

Yes this is probably the easiest way to determine whether your pump is physically working.

This. Also change to BG diff fluid. You can also get heat shield material for the Cats, shield goes around 50% of the cats on the trans side. That should keep your diff and trans cool. Engine oil is another story.

@WildHorse
I ordered the heat protection tape.
Brand: Designengineering.com "Black Titanium", I suppose that should not be cheap stuff :rockon:

@Hangman77
Thanks for the info.
I will now have the differential pump check, change the fluid again and look at the next trackday.

If I have again temperature problems after only 3-4 laps, I will think about upgrading the cooling. :facepalm:
It's just no fun, with 1-2 laps warm up + 2-3 laps full send and then the car is already at the limit.

it’s exactly what happened to me. As soon as I got out and started playing with some porches my temps wenthigh.

in consolation, the exact thing happened to allot of the other cars, many of the porche gt2’s and gt3’s, as well as bmw and other cars were all Heat soaking under the weather conditions.

either wait for first run of day or end of day runs to get the temps better.

Hello 😃

The new clutch has arrived and will be replaced next with differential fluid etc.

Now I have a question. In the manual it says:
-Rear axle fluid 1.9 L
-Rear axle friction 125 ml

But the manual for the DIfferential oil change says:
-Rear axle fluid 1.5 L
-Rear axle friction 118 ml

What is the correct now? :blush:
Or have I not understood something linguistically? :crazy:

Your linguisticity is just fine; it's the process that's causing the confusion.

The diff with cooler takes 1.9 liters to fill from empty. However, when you drain it, not all of it drains out. The instructions say to put in 1.5 liters, run the cooler pump and then top it off to 9mm below the fill hole. The total amount you'll put in will be more than 1.5 liters but less than 1.9. When I do mine, I separate the lower hose fitting, let it drain, reconnect the fitting and put in 52 ounces of fluid plus 4 ounces of friction modifier. That's 56 ounces or about 1.65 liters. When I cycle the pump and check fluid level afterwards, it's always bang on at 9mm down.

Hello Together :sunglasses:

Well, the workshop has no idea that they have to activate the differential pump for the oil change.

I will now buy the licens for ForScan and a ODB Cable...
My question. Does anyone have a Screenshot/Manual of ForScan, where to press to activate the differential pump as it says in the manual? :blush:

Hello 😃

Unfortunately, during the differential oil change, we could not see if the differential pump is working.
I have found on the ForScan program only how to log the data, but not how I activate/deactivate the differential pump. :facepalm:

Anyway we changed the differential oil yesterday. Today I did a test drive on the German Autobahn.

Outside temperature: 19 degrees / 66.2 °F
Speed driven: 120-200 kmh / 75 - 124 mph
Test duration: about 20min.

The differential temperature rose continuously! Even if I drove slower, the differential temperature hardly got lower.
At 103 °C / 217 °F I stopped the test. ForScan always showed "Diff Pump Off" during the whole test. :lipssealed:

The outside temperature was very cool compared to my last track day and the speed was not really fast, yet the temperature kept going up.

I don't think it should be like that.

-Does anyone know if GT350 differential pump go break down?
-At what temperature does the differential pump turn on?
-Does anyone know, where to find the function in ForSCan to turn the pump on/off?

Thanks for the help ✌
