is it possible to engineer and reinforce the voodoo engine to get it to higher RPMs and more power/acceleration?

Has anyone ever done it?

I'm not wondering about tuning the stock car and optimizing the fuel, but actually reinforcing the physical strength of the engine and then tuning it to take advantage the added strength to produce more power?

Ever been done?

Have you seen honeybagdgers thread? I think he's tried just about everything under the sun to make it work.

The limitations are inherent in the crank design, and it seems like the solution is CPC.

Forge an UDDU crank, make it 2.5 inch stroke max, redesign the intake manifold then test and upgrade parts as they fail.

If you compare the voodoo to the LT6 the glaring difference is the bore size. I don’t think the bore/stroke ratio is inherently the problem, but more likely the intake valve size that can be fit. As a result the LT6 has 10% more valve skirt area and they are less shrouded.

I was using a F1 engine as comparison. Some of the V8's had 1.5 inch strokes. 98mm bore and 40mm stroke. On the 5.0 we still are giving up almost 6mm of bore so I was hoping we could make it up with stroke. Should still be able to get 11 or 12K RPM out of it.

Stroke doesn’t fix the valve area and shrouding issue.

One advantage of the smaller bore is you get a lighter piston

Nothing we can do about this. Ford screwed us when they decided to use the mod motor assembly line.

The shorter stroke does help with the vibrations, and will raise the RPM where peak flow occurs.
