I removed the sound tube when I installed the Rousch CAI.

Did the same, took more time to remove that silly ass nut, then the complete CAI swap.

Hope you did the soft tune with it .......... icing on the cake....

OK, now that is friggin' hilarious!!
If only to see the look on a geriatric's face as he realizes that an Amtrak locomotive is bearing down on him from behind!!!

I removed mine from the CAI to the round diaphragm under the brace. It looks better and removes the ugly tubing and large triangular shaped box; but I wanted to be able to put it back on easily if I ever put the stock factory airbox back on the car. I can re-install it with a new small stainless steel band clamp in the future if need be in probably less than 1 minute.

Trying to imagine the end results of the gorilla removal process. And what's left hanging off the fire wall.

Think a video staring Freddy Floorjack playing tug a war with a sound tube would be spectacular . Got to believe one is coming.

When I removed mine I tried to remove the nut and I think I even watched the CJPP video and eventually gave up. Then my friend said just pull straight up on the tube near the firewall end and it’ll come out. Once I did that it popped off the stud. My sound tube is deleted and that 10mm nut is still in place.

This sound tube is way over blown imo. I have ridden in deleted and non deleted and the actual difference is pretty minimal. Lol...

In my opinion it does sound better, no "wall of sound" crap that the 70s made popular.

I knew of taking the inner fender well off, just more work to do, so I didn't.

Oh and I have one that is complete, so in 50 years when everyone is looking for them to complete a restore, more $ for whomever gets it.

Installing a CAI solves the issue.
