I find it useless and just another piece of plastic in the way when working under the hood. Remove the 10mm nut on the firewall, place a cap on the intake tube nipple, Plug or tape the hole in the firewall, and put this piece of trash on the shelf until trade in time.

For anyone interested I know a lot of us have had trouble with the stupid nut on the firewall. I came across a Ford shop manual that showed how to remove the sound tube. Evidentially there is an access panel behind the fender liner. I just ended up pulling mine out with force but in case someone wants to know here it is.

I had a Roush Kit installed and I'm wondering if the sound tube was left on by the speed shop. Only thing I can think of that allows me to hear so much intake noise (when boost gets higher) but I thought they were removed with the intake kit that comes with the kit

Open up the engine bay and take a look. It’s huge so you can’t miss it.
