There's a huge drop off for summer tires between 60 F and 45 F. At 45 F if you are on a short drive, summer tires suck. At 45 F if you drive long enough, and it's sunny, summer tires can warm up enough to grip well, eventually. But if not, then a high performance all season is vastly superior...
Ah yes, my brain went to nitrous but I realize what you meant now. How much hp can a FBO engine built w/ nitromethane addition fuel system make over the same FBO engine but on E85?
I didnāt even think about nitrous when referring to N/A, I consider that a power adder like forced induction. A FBO E85 with max weight reduction and a 175 shot probably isn't considered by most people a traditional āN/Aā build anymore. Itās a full blown power adder.
I guess with enough reasonable weight reduction and engine mods the N/A 8.9s donāt surprise me (and they werenāt even in great DA). The 6.65 split though, thatās pretty shocking, but I guess thereās always an exception. That car must be completely unstreetable. Iām sure itās completely gutted...
I think youāre getting some iffy info so far. Compression test for a car thatās running about where it should? Gimme a break. With E85 and not much else mid 12s is about what I would expect. 2015-2017 GTs stock are 13s-14s. And your 120-130 mph split of 2.84 sec isnāt indicative of something...
Yikes, I was harsh. Classic case of donāt judge something by a few photos. Turns out I actually like the Supra quite a bit (I have a ā22 3.0) and it performs really well. And as others have stated itās underrated power wise by likely 35+ hp. Itās a fun alternative and quite the change up from my...
The gap at the top will be the radius difference, but in front and behind the tire the overall gap will increase by the reduction in tire diameter since thereās two sides surrounding the tire.
I think youāre within range for 60-130 and 1/4 mile trap speed for a Gen 2 Coyote GT with minor mods. Have you searched the Dragy app history for 15-17 GTs? There are several in the 12s 60-130 and they seem to have minor mods. A few in the high 11s so perhaps thereās a little room for...
Donāt forget about the transmission and the rest of the drivetrain. Of the guys I personally know with boosted S550s making around 750 rwhp (about 6 or so), all have broken their trans. Itās not made for that kind of power.
Nice! The Supra is a nice change in pace from my Camaro ZL1. Lighter weight (3300 lbs vs. 3900 lbs), short wheelbase, but a bit touchier on the controls (steering and brakes). The inputs aren't as smooth as they are in the ZL1. The Supra has some strong turn in, though. It's pretty quick in...
Anecdotally from my memory on this forum, I seem to recall a number of QC issues with 2020 models that were built during Covid. When I start looking to buy a GT500, 2020 models will be off my list.
I like to use cargurus - lots of useful filter options. I was curious, and nationwide there's 172 S550 GT500 listings and 69 ZL1s (same years, 20-22 for comparison).
Bad comparison. Teslas are boring cars. Boring and plain interior. Boring drivetrain with no soul. Boring exterior looks - although the model S is at least a good-looking sedan, but not exciting. Boring to drive. They drive nice, but still, boring.
I'm not sure if you've made a decision as I haven't read the entire thread, but don't make the same mistake many people do and get a slightly wider but shorter tire. That actually makes traction worse because the contact patch isn't any bigger (maybe smaller) and there's more torque...
This is not a credible statement esp since it appears you have a 2015 GT which make less power FBO E85 than Gen 3 coyotes, and have a huge trans disadvantage. Bolt on 6th Gen ZL1s run in the 6s and some high 5s 60-130 mph. Thatās moving. Even light bolt ons are running high 6s/low 7s. With good...
Ha, funny. I know the Supra is made of BMW parts, but Toyota tuned the Supra's handling dynamics and of course designed the exterior of the car, while BMW engineered it. Toyota made it better and playful.
Definitely agree. While I enjoy driving my Supra a lot, it sounds OK but uninspiring to...
One thing never mentioned about EVs is that they have essentially half the life expectancy of an ICE car due to battery depletion. Despite them being "cleaner" or zero tailpipe emissions or however they want to spin it, the fact is with EVs, over time, twice as many have to be made, doubling...
The diameter difference between new 265/35/20 and 315/35/20 tires is about 5% for new tires. If your previous tires were somewhat worn, that 5% could be actually 7% due to the tires losing diameter as they wear. That difference causes higher overall effective gear ratio, which is probably...
