Yes, no need for wrap with this stuff. You wouldn't think a thin coating like this would do anything, but I can reach down in the engine bay and touch the headers within minutes of a long drive with my bare hands. It keeps the entire engine bay so much cooler
Damn. So your saying i should do my headers i spent 2 days diy on jack stands……. Kill me

definitely going to do it when i upgrade opg and crank, that way at least some crap is out of the way

Yeah man, I wouldn't even think about doing headers on these cars without it first. Did this on my 2017 GT Kooks set too back in 2018. If I had to do this a 3rd time, I think I would drop the subframe. Jack stands + Headers = FML

Dropping the subframe is way way too much work thats extra

ive done everything in my driveway thats slanted on jack stands. Ecoboost motor rebuild, mini cooper engine pull and full service everything, gt supercharger install + headers, bmw 335i engine rebuild, fbo on all of them.

it sucks but in a year i get a house and will get a lift/half lift, so hopefully then i can have a great life and not kms over the jackstand work 😂

I'm right there with you. I'd kill for a garage with a lift in it. This is my old car, doing the clutch on jackstands

Also on the cerakote train. Found a performance coating shop about 30mins from me. I think I paid $400 to have all of my Kooks stuff done. Even got to pick the color!

How many turbo cars here are using a water and oil cooled turbo? I’ve been reading up on this and it appears that this is the best option for keeping them super cool.

I was wondering how hard it would be to tap into the cooling system to do it?

Journal bearing = just oil And will last for ever like that. Think trucks.

ball bearing= most use an oil restricter , and the oil is only there for lubrication not cooling at all really. Thus the need for water cooling.

an easy route a lot of people use is to tee into existing heater pipes. Position of turbo also needs to be below highteast water point so bubbles and steam can exit the top of the turbo.

What is the solution for oil feed lines with the plastic oil pan?

You mean oil return lines? Many will simply tig in a bung(s) in the timing cover.
Yeah that. Fuggin smoke alarms went off at 2am and took me an hour to figure out which one was the culprit. My brain isn't functioning properly. Whatever asshole decided that smoke alarms should use replaceable batteries hopefully died in a house fire

try having interlinked smoke alarms so when one screws up they all scream equally so can't find the faulty one. And for a brucy bonus, UK units are mains powered with battery back up! Weird how they always fck up at 2am, ours did the same..

I don’t have an answer yet, but it’s definitely something I need to look into. Maybe some of the twin turbo folks can share how they’ve gone about feeding theirs.
