I get the being able to see the hands but to me the view to what's in front of the car isn't good at all - windhsield is kinda of small from that viewpoint. I tried it couple of times (camera basically more or less where my eyes are height wise) and keep putting it on the outside.

Yeah, that's a downside, but off to the DS only you don't get a great feel for how close you were to the cones on the PS. Tradeoffs...

When are we gonna get @TeeLew videos?

the GoPro goes there:

You're gonna make me, huh? It's a shit show, but I'll post a lap. I'm on a work trip right now, let me get to the hotel.

Vids for me have to show the hands. It's just too hard for me to figure out what the driver is inducing & what he's responding to without being able to see the inputs.

Here's your entertainment for the evening. This was my final and best run on the end of the Saturday Test/Tune day. Sorry there's no sound. This camera was a product of unintended sponsorship. It had he mic covered and the sound gain turned way down. I'll fix it for next time. There's nothing from Sunday. I thought I had plenty of card space, but then I forgot to turn the recording off after this run and ended up with a huge file and no way to clean the card.

There's a slalom at the end. For some reason when I published this vid it ended up with a slow-down point that makes it look like I was trying to highlight this. I wasn't. I don't know what caused it to do that. Anyway, directly prior to that point right at the end, there's 2 workers grabbing cones and scrambling. I saw the first was out of the way easy, but had missed the second until late (i.e. eyes too low). I saw him late and checked up...you can tell I'm pissed. Whatever, it was the last run regardless.

Also, keep an eye on how much time I spent in 3rd gear. It's surprising. The Sunday the course was mostly thist backwards and I was in second the entire time with a couple rev-limiter touches. With this engine, I think there's a real argument for not revving the nuts off of it. The only thing that stopped me from shifting on Sunday was that the shifts would have been in real clunky spots, so I opted to not, but it might have been better in a couple spots.

What's your max in 2nd ? Are the tires shorter than stock ?

Clean run. I didn't hear the tires much. RE71Rs do chirp a bit when they're at the limit. Full on sustained squeal is usually over, but you should always hear them some in cornering. It mostly looks like you have the grip to just carry more speed everywhere.

If you're at redline or below, don't shift. If you are at redline for more than a second or so, consider shifting. The torque loss from the gear change from 2-3 makes it not worth it at all unless you need to accelerate past your maximum speed in 2nd gear. If you're at 60mph or below just stay in 2nd.

I'd also recommend avoiding sport or track mode (if you're turning the nannies off anyway). The throttle map is too aggressive in sport and track and can really make it hard to be smooth when you need to at the limit. It only took me like 3 years to figure that one out.

That and advancetrac off completely. The car is a lot easier to drive with everything off.

Only problem with the advice above on Magneride car (not sure if TeeLew's is - lost track) is that driving modes are completely tied to suspension modes. I think way around is through DSC Sport controller that (again - I think) allows to upload whatever calibration you want for each of the modes but it's little costly.

Ah true, that's fair. Sounds like @TeeLew needs the DSC controller (which would generally also allow for lighter rate springs overall while still being competitive).

Big CAMC field for the Texas Champ Tour in Houston in a couple of weeks. I think we are sitting at 10 cars right now. Largest of all of the classes right now.

Looking forward to it. It's also a points event for our local group so we have our normal folks competing. Hopefully I'll get a respectable time, but with @NightmareMoon heading over for the event this may not be the case.

After multiple conversations with @Brian@BMVK, I have some updates I'll be trying this weekend regarding increased spring rate on the front coilovers so hopefully I can dial it in for the tour event.

For those you in Texas, they moved OUSCI from Vegas (due to SEMA cancellation) to COTA 11/1-3. I’ll be making the 32+ hour haul to compete on 11/2-3, but if you aren’t in the event, they are doing an all-comers autox on 11/1 (as well as a car/vendor show, and possibly track/karting, details are still being worked out). More info will be posted here: https://hiperformanceexpo.com/

Hope to see some M6G’ers there!
