  1. Maximum toe-out for road course track days?

I wanted to believe this years ago, but it’s just not true on heavy, high HP cars driven at/near the limit at very high speeds (and the resultant heavy braking, which I think is the culprit). I run -4.25 up front, 0 toe w/ spherical bearings (no rubber = no movement under heavy load), and ABS...
  2. Superchargers and HPDE/Road course

oh boy :p my advice: unless you're willing to go deeper than you ever imagined (customizations and financially), don't do it. i'm in the middle of a move, so not a lot of time for back and forth, but my issues are well documented here and on my racing page.

  4. SCCA CAM-C Thread

gotcha. looks like i'm gonna miss out on thursday, need to get on the road for the indycar race back home. fwiw, i'd kill for a 12 hour drive - the 24 hour slog i've been doing for way too long is starting to grind on me. i must be getting old :p cya there!
  5. SCCA CAM-C Thread

alright. lincoln, prosolo finale & nats. who's in? i have some expiring vacation with nothing else to use it on, so why not spend the week @ the concrete beach?! extra fun bonus of (4) pros since 2019 so i can get into tier 2 reg for the finale. see everyone in september! btw, i reached...
  6. The Big Fat Track Car Cooling Thread

thanks! it's been one heckuva ride thus far; a lot more time, money and trial by fire than i'd ever expected, but every now and then it seems worth it when the car is running smooth and i'm focusing on competing! i stopped updating that build thread a few years ago and switched over to teh...
  7. The Big Fat Track Car Cooling Thread

not much use when competing, but i find it useful after a session since the data transmits on the CANbus so i can sniff it and track down vacuum leaks (which have been a recurring issue as i've turned up the boost over the years)
  8. The Big Fat Track Car Cooling Thread

@TundraOnKings just noticed you’re in my neck of the woods. find me when we cross paths (i run @ PIR, ORP and the ridge regularly), and i can point you in the right direction on cooling (and show you what i’ve done to mine)
  9. Anyone know a shop in WA

No, but a good racing friend recommended them years ago, and now another racing friend is a tech there. You’re in good hands with them!

  11. 2018 GT PP2 Rear Differential Overheating Issue

for sure, i don't doubt that getrag/ford found issues with a stock MT-82 being externally cooled during development (and there's no doubt an internal solution is superior) - but i also think the metallurgy of the internals play a bigger role than lubrication/oil starvation causing hot spots from...
  12. 2018 GT PP2 Rear Differential Overheating Issue

let me know how long your 3rd gear lasts when driven hard on the track if you don't cool the MT-82..... fwiw, i've been running gforce (calimer-spec) forged and rem-coated internals in an MT-82 case w/ external cooling (fill/drain plug-plumbed) for 3 (hard) seasons. still going strong, unlike...
  13. Illinois WTB: Catch can for S/C 2016 GT

i have one: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/fs-peterson-vented-catch-can-w-12an-lines-fittings.151405/ about as functional as you can get, but it vents to atmosphere, so might not be great if you spend most of your time on the street..
  14. 2018 GT PP2 Rear Differential Overheating Issue

yep. wasn't happy with how loud the pump was when i was driving it on the street either, so i picked up some thick rubber spacers from fastenal that i cut to desired size. perfect, your trunk floor (and anything you put in there) is probably much happier with lower ambient temps :) i plumbed...
  15. 2018 GT PP2 Rear Differential Overheating Issue

Definitely. I was a lot less handy (and didn’t have the right tools) when I bought the kit. Would definitely DIY if I had to do it again, which is what I did for my oil/tranny cooling setups. BTW, be sure to space the setup away from the sheet metal. Had to made some spacers for mine, since...
  16. 2018 GT PP2 Rear Differential Overheating Issue

can also confirm, there is a thermostatic sensor/control in the FTBR kit - still working great for me after 3 seasons of use - had concerns about sensor failure, but no problems for me (yet) fwiw, it's a knob you turn with a small screwdriver - i have mine set to turn on at 190 (i run VERY...
  17. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

“He” doesn’t make it - Hellwig does. If Strano isn’t carrying stock any more and is unwilling to place another order, you might want to reach out to them directly. Barring that, I’ve got one collecting dust that I might be persuaded to move..
  18. Loss of Power on Track

... then close all potential gaps for air to escape with foil tape. and if you're feeling particularly adventurous (and have the space), reduce the inlet to 1/3 the surface area and duct that, tip the cooling elements forward, and duct the exit through hood vents. i'll be doing all this in the...
