20 minute weekend project for someone who never did anything in an engine bay 😁 I did it because it works, spilled half a spoon already, and I want to keep the car forever.
Yeah, that's what I figured, but had one friend give me a horror story about their car (think it was related to just how difficult it is to work on their car's engine in general).

Re: keeping the car forever, that's my plan, too, and that's why I kind of want to do it. Though now that I'm WFH seemingly indefinitely, even "forever" might mean only 150K miles lol... But they'll be a fairly hard 150K miles. Prob a track day here and there, too.

EDIT: BTW, for those of you who have installed a catch can, how much/how often do you get oil out of it?

I didn’t measure, but was suprised how much was in my JLT can after 2000sh miles…about a quarter full. Seems to be doing it’s job.

I recognize you want Ford Performance parts, but I highly recommend the AAD catch can. I have it for my GT350, and it's a lot better than Fords. The Ford just sort of hangs there, and if memory serves me correct, it uses the studs from the intake and valve cover for support. It may not matter, but I wouldn't want any additional weight on that plastic stud coming out.
The M-6766-A50A is an exact fit and mounts snuggly. I had a slight issue getting the wiring harness to snap back into place, but others didn't seem to have an issue.

You can check with every oil check, it's just two quick connectors and spill it out, if there's too little in it, it won't come out, as it will flow around the hole instead out of it. You can always remove the screws and check inside, it's all pretty fast.

We have only 2 tracks around in like 500km vicinity. One in Seres, Greece, and one in Bulgaria, which is an old air field, and is kind of bumpy. I wouldn't go there as I've heard it is dreadful...
So, I'm not planning on frequent track run, but I try to drive the M1 on daily basis, so I have around 2000miles (3700)km on the clock already for a month of ownership. Definitely the catch can is a must, as I said, the fuel around is kind of questionable quality to the least, so the less dirt goes back to the engine, the better...

Right, I understand that, I was just hoping others who have done it might be able to provide me with their own experiences. I'm wondering if it actually catches enough waste oil to be worth the cost and effort. I hear mixed things about how useful these separators are on most modern cars, but nothing beats real world experience.

Only get driver's side if you're boosted. Otherwise it's an expensive looking piece of plastic.
I will get mine charged in 2 weeks (FP/Roush). Should I swap the can over to the drivers side?

There's a driver's side specific one. I don't think the passenger side one is interchangeable.

Here's after a couple of track days, passenger side of the Coyote, same config as in the Mach 1. Yes you need it if you track, but not necessary on the driver side.

Do many of you who DON'T track your Mach 1 bother with the catch can? I've been debating it for a bit, but am leaning towards doing it... At worst, could be a fun lil weekend project for someone who hasn't turned a wrench in a while and wants to get his feet wet again. Sounds like the installation is fairly simple...
Very simple fun straight forward install, hose fittings just clicks in. Give yourself smiles.

I will disagree with you regarding the driver side for track use
On my 17 pp1 , using a power pack 2 and with ford racing track suspension and running 305 squared nt01, the driver side was pucking quite a lot in the can
It all depends on how much you push the car
For me the solution was to use the aluminum valves covers from the gt500 that have a much, much better baffling system with 1 way valves

Those covers (M-6067-M52S) do not fit for Gen3 Coyote, right?
