I want to go back again because it was so much fun. Even though it rained due to a hurricane at the time, I still went plenty fast but I'd love to do it while it was dry. These cars perform amazingly even in the rain on PS4S. I think this is one of the last high performing "tunable" Mustangs...
Not doing the trunk or roof yet.
Same bumper but no drilled out license plate holes.
Perfect match. Even my hood vent is a perfect match to the spoiler. He said they're all Ford colors so it was simple.
The entire job with paint, hood install, Quiklatch install was $3000. That price includes...
It's a lot lighter than stock because it's aluminum and not fiberglass. I didn't notice the hood moving on my drive home but I also didn't go that fast. My hood shouldn't move with the latches working.
Trust me, this is one of my biggest things I want done right. I even want it to travel like the OEM one to where it sits about 1 inch from the bumper too.
Got lucky I guess. The body shop still had to do plenty of work on the hood itself but overall it wasn't too bad. The worst part he said was getting the connecting rods mounted to the radiator bracket which was tricky and had to do some grinding.
I measured the decal to follow the lines. It should flow with the shape of the hood. I sent the measurements to the decal shop and they made it based on that.
Almost done. I just picked it up from the body shop. QL-50 is installed and bumper and hood painted. I go back in two weeks for the decal.
I color matched the hood vent with the spoiler/mirrors in that anthracite like color. They perfectly matched it.
So all of the bleeders are essentially the same. What changes is the connection adapter to the master cylinder so you'll want to find one for Ford. I think I originally got mine off Amazon. I bought a Honda adapter later for my Accord and my wife's Insight. I always end up having to look up how...
Been a while since I made a post but I'm finally doing a couple things. One, my bumper had the license plate holes drilled out in it so I wasn't thrilled about that and two, I'm finally switching to the GT500 hood. Fitment on the IKON hood is great. I'm in the process of finding the right body...
I have a VIOFO A129 Pro Duo that's been in a box for over a year that I have not installed yet. If I can tap that into the mirror that would be great but the instructions call for it to wire into the fuse box on the driver's side.
It's actually 2.75" which is the same as the GT500. This is why the 3" connectors from the headers don't work. I didn't try 2.5" ones because the 2.75" ones were already pretty snug.
As for the sound, it's the best exhaust I've heard and had on any Mustang.
I've got my tuner in the glovebox with my phone so it shouldn't be an issue even if they do. My car can run on the stock tune as long as E85 isn't in the tank.
