  1. C8 ZR1

I mean like you new to be a seasoned track driver to push a Z06. The faster a car is, the more skilled one needs to be to properly extract its performance, other than in a straight line. It would not take that long to get comfortable with an Ecoboost stang near it's limits. Eh, I mean I get...
  2. C8 ZR1

Maybe I'm jaded about modern cars, but this is just about ludicrous, on-paper bragging rights at this point... right? I mean the thing will be an amazing feat of engineering, I'm sure, but the Z06's limits are already unreachable to most mere humans even on the track, where probably not even 10%...
  3. Which car do I choose ? M1 vs 13’ GT500

I haven't driven a '13 GT500, even though I used to think that car was so badass when it came out, and (like many people in the forum you're asking) I'm probably biased towards the M1 now since I own and love it... but being as practical and logical as I can, I just cannot imagine very many...
  4. Advice on Finding a Clean Mach 1

I'm starting to see why they say colorful cars have better resale value. Can add it to the list of reasons I love my grabber yellow, heh. Sometimes it pays to not be boring! Good luck in your search.
  5. How tall of a speed bump can your Mach 1 slow roll straight over?

I think answers to this question will vary heavily based on with or without HP. Without HP, my Mach 1 isn't too bad with speed bumps. I sometimes have to take them very slowly, but I almost never have to take them at an angle. I would certainly clear a 2.5" bump. I'm not sure there are many...
  6. 📈 Mustang December 2021 Sales & Production Numbers: 4,564 Sold / 7,495 Produced

I never thought I'd see the term "V4" on this forum... Especially from someone whose handle is "TrackMustang" 🤔
  7. Advice on Finding a Clean Mach 1

So sad that actual color is hard to find even on a fun car like the Mustang... one of the few cars you can actually even get in a real color. Why are people so damn boring these days... I think handling pack is not worth being picky about. It's easy to get everything worthwhile that the HP...
  8. Tear in Frame

Most humans make more mistakes than most machines, heh. "Hand-made" is just marketing bullshit, doesn't actually make the car better. And low volume pretty much necessitates it for some cars, too. There are some corners cut to build these cars at a comparatively low price point for what we get...
  9. Car feels slower or not as aggressive when accelerating

But worse fuel economy if he does much city driving, heh.
  10. Drilled and slotted rotors

At the risk of being pedantic, this technically isn't true. Larger brakes do generally provide more braking force... But it's just that you don't really need that extra force. You don't need anymore force from your braking system than is necessary to maximize the stopping force of your tires...
  11. Drilled and slotted rotors

But who is actually using those pads in high performance vehicles? All the pads I'm aware of that outgas have been completely outclassed by modern performance pads that don't create gasses. It's all marketing BS. Drilled rotors serve no modern purpose in performance applications. There's a...
  12. Drilled and slotted rotors

Are you talking about the f = uN formula? Contact patch size directly affects the coefficient of friction (the 'u') EDIT: I see you sort of addressed this in a follow-up message. I didn't really follow the full convo (as you can tell lol), I just thought it initially seemed disingenuous (or...
  13. 4G Modem Disabling Instructions:

I don't think there's anything important on the S650 that would "break" if you cutoff the modem connectivity... Although with how much software is on there, you may miss out on OTA updates, some of which you may actually want. But we're probably a decent ways away from cars just not working...
  14. 4G Modem Disabling Instructions:

Clearly I do not lol. So I guess you smart I dumb, but thanks for the info, I'll take a look today.
  15. Drilled and slotted rotors

Slotted rotors can slightly improve heat dissipation, with other drawbacks for most drivers. Drilled rotors only exist because A) a long time ago, some brake pads benefited from them for releasing gases that were generated under high heat, and B) now people think they look cool. Drilled rotors...
  16. 4G Modem Disabling Instructions:

Ah, interesting thanks, the trunk sounds less intimidating than interior footwell trim... Is that just around where the spare wheel well is? And I guess you left the yellow and red in place, but yanked the black-ended cable, which was likely power?
  17. 4G Modem Disabling Instructions:

So I was reminded of this thread after seeing that NY Times article about slimy insurance companies making the rounds... Sorry if I missed it since this thread has gotten pretty big, but has anyone made a video of how to do this? As someone who hasn't wrenched much on my car in a while, I'm a...
  18. MACH 1 hood decal scratch

I may get some turned up noses for this suggestion, but I actually think your idea of using a permanent marker (or maybe more carefully chosen markers of a couple different colors) would make that scratch completely imperceptible to anyone who didn't know about it and/or who wasn't looking closely.
  19. 90% Selling the Bullitt

Could be, seat height may have less adjustability in Porsches?
