This is my trap door covered in oil. I think it is from the filter change. The drain plug and filter are dry. I washed out the cover best that I could I will see.

Few things:

1. The Oil Filter is to be replaced WITHOUT placing any oil on the new filters O-ring, which goes against everything a Mechanic ever learned.
(see below photo on Oil Changes, as someone posted the Ford Tech instructions previously) Not saying this is your problem but just be aware.

2. Your trap door is warped, I showed this to one of the Ford Engineers at Woodward Dream Cruse in August, as they had the M1 Display with the cut away front undertray. He said that's just a reject that's on the display model and all cars shipped don't have that!

I then showed him a photo of my brothers M1 with the same warped trap door and he gulped and said something like, " oh crap, I'll take note of that and look into it!"

Perfect example of why I prefer to do my own oil changes. It is not that difficult and if you take your time its not really all that messy. Dealers are in "churn and burn" mode so they really don't care about the details or the mess.
This is exactly why I’m here looking for info on changing my own oil so I don’t have to deal with the hassle of letting the grease monkeys at the dealer make a mess under my car and leak onto my driveway. At least if I spill the oil I can’t complain!
