Started it up again today to check some mods I made to the oil lines. This thing is going to wake the dead. Wife recorded this from the street (about 150-200ft away). Only up to 3k rpm

You misspelled "terrifying." Now I wonder how many of my valves are sitting in there with missing chips.Well that's interesting...
That is disturbing! Before I put them into storage, I dug through the box of springs and valves I got back with my heads. Found a few surprises. Short video (1 min watch) since it's easier
I've always wondered if the idle miss was Ford deliberately making the engine sound more like a muscle car V8.That miss I used to have at idle is gone and the beast purrs like a kitten. Awesome!
Not sure. Maybe one of the guys with a set of long tubes on the stock tune can chime in. I was betting it is the stock tune, but I have no evidence of that.I've always wondered if the idle miss was Ford deliberately making the engine sound more like a muscle car V8.
Maybe it's just the exhaust header design?
My GT and 350 both have the "miss."Not sure. Maybe one of the guys with a set of long tubes on the stock tune can chime in. I was betting it is the stock tune, but I have no evidence of that.
I just know that miss at idle always bothered me![]()
Ford ought to take notice. Kevin, you have done an outstanding job. When I catch up with things, I will be a bit more aggressive to find a junked GT350 and do what you have done with your motor. I hope you took good notes. Before I put them into storage, I dug through the box of springs and valves I got back with my heads. Found a few surprises. Short video (1 min watch) since it's easier
Thanks, Tom!Ford ought to take notice. Kevin, you have done an outstanding job. When I catch up with things, I will be a bit more aggressive to find a junked GT350 and do what you have done with your motor. I hope you took good notes.
Assume it is something along these lines as well. I think @JAJ upgraded the factory tune to a new factory tune. Did the idle change? My GT and 350 both have the "miss."
I always figured it was the cams adjusting timing as some sort of check but I have no clue. I know I sat one day and let my GT idle from dead cold to like 180 oil temps (a long ass time), and several times during it the engine would obviously make adjustments. I assumed it was trying to build heat quicker/cut fuel usage at idle or something.
Agreed. The perfectionist in me just eye twitched' at itMine does too. Kinda annoying but it never concerned me.
I don't Facebook. Do you have contact info? Also what's the story with it?Thanks, Tom!
