Yea, people chase that perceived rarity by ordering oddball colors and options. They may convince themselves they have a rare car, but a god awful color and stripe combo leaves a car that has a lot to be desired.
Order what you want and enjoy using the car. That's my thoughts.....
There was a guy on here who got his R delivered with no wing. He went on and on about how rare it was, but the fact is that is not the kind of rarity collectors are looking for. I have no idea if he ever got it fixed, but that was the consensus from all of us commenting on the thread.
The car was described as bucking and smoking. If the trans cooler was the culprit, there would be no fluid hitting any kind of heat source that would cause smoke because the trans cooler is in the front of the vehicle below the radiatior. If it was the DCT supply and return lines near the...
and after that? Are you saying the trans wouldn't be damaged driving around for miles without fluid? My thoughts are get it done right the first time. Getting it right should be a new trans, not a half ass band-aid.
I would tell them that you drove this thing for miles without fluid, to the point that the car was bucking and started throwing codes. The transmission is ruined. Stand up for yourself and demand a new transmission.
Now what about the oil? Are they going to cover up their mistake on that...
And you are OK with your transmission being run dry for miles?
The transmission cooler is in the front of your car below the radiator.
Still make sense?
Well the lack of a reply sort of says it all. This guy has some serious problems ahead of him.
My guess is someone changed the oil and didn't put enough back in. (1qt per cylinder rule maybe). I hope it was the dealer who did that and not the op.
I still would like to know what's up with the oil. Who's been doing the oil changes? Did the OP verify oil level after service? If you've been running around with not enough oil in the engine, that may be trashed too. If a dealer did this, it's on them. If you did this, it's on the op.
So...
