Bummer Kevin! Hopefully the new phaser will solve the problem...Welp good news and bad news (mostly bad news).
We got the engine in, drive shaft in, and ARH exhaust system installed. When we started the beast, it ran fine for about a minute and then when I applied a small amount of throttle and it fell on its face (sputtering, almost died, etc.) and then threw a p0025 code (B" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 2)).
When we were assembling, we had a bit of a problem with one of the cam phasers and I had to take it apart. Guess what camshaft is throwing the code? Yep - same one.
At the moment, we're planning to order a new phaser. While we wait, we'll do a cylinder leak down test/compression test (to verify valve train and cylinder health) and then begin tear down. Anyone have any additional thoughts/recommendations?
On the the brightside, it sounded fucking savage for about a minute![]()
