No procharger use the stock dampner and the 8 rib pulley bolts to that with a cam lock type bolt and longer crank bolt.
Or u can do an ATI unit and procharger makes an 8rib stg 2 pulley for it. This setup is 2lbs lighter than stock balancer and camlock pulley setup. MOI is probably low, but it is 2lbs spinning at 8k....

Do you have a link? Am I retarded or is ATI Procharger and ATI Harmonic Balancers the same ATI or is it just coincidence.

I know someone with a brand new aluminator sitting in the crate and take off 15 heads he is looking to sell if you are in the market.

I'm almost positive it was. Shaun from AED who is like the premier Tuner for Mustangs in Nor Cal told me they need to be measured and honed to be withing a certain tolerance. I read somewhere it .0008 and .0012. Which as we all know, a human hair is .003 so that's tighter than a Frog's ass.
Your image clearly shows the results of improper installation.
The "crack" from the keyway through the crank is the dead give away.

Any thoughts on mine . My buddy started the tear down .
His theory is a head gasket failed around cylinder 8 and was pushing coolant ?
It has started lifting heads a little on the dyno before it broke .
Looks like the heads(GT350) are trashed too although the valves looked okay . Found bits of a broken rocker arm.

Sorry you're dealing with that as well. I was curious what the damage would look like. How bad are those spots where the valves came in contact with the pistons? Is it a decent gouge or did they just kiss em? Also what kind of shape were the valves in?

Improper installation? How? I see the crack, but how did you determine improper installation? Like someone reused a factory bolt, over torqued the ARP, didn’t torque tight enough? I am just curious... I am not arguing at all. I just don’t understand (maybe showing my ignorance) how someone could have an improper installation. I’ve recently done my OPGs and CS, so makes me a little nervous to see this.

The inside diameter of the Harmonic balancer has an interference fit with the outside diameter of the crank snout. Based on the thickness of the snout, per ATI, that interference is .0008 and .0012. If its tighter than .0008, then it needs to be honed until it's within that specification.

So would that constitute improper installation or improper manufacturing? Are you saying the crack is from too tight of a press fit?

He was surprised there were no broken valves.

^^^

And using a bolt to try and pull on a balancer that’s too tight,or bottoming out said bolt. As said before. Proper interference fit, and proper installation tools.
