lol seriously.

For 1000whp, you can build a motor for $4-5k that will handle the power all day long.
Interesting: 4-5k for a reliable 1000whp? Please explain How and where did you buy your FI parts from.

-Forged pistons and rods--$1300 (mahle drop-ins, Manley H tuff)--Got these on Christmas special in 2020, price is about $500 higher these day for piston/rod combo.
-Ford OPG--$400
-MMR crank sprocket--$200
-ARP studs--$300
-King bearings--$300
-New crank--$275
-Gen 3 block--$850
-Balancing/machining--$450

Total= ~$4100

If you can do the work you can build a reliable shortblock for 4-5k easy. Really all you need is rods and pistons

I agree with everything except the price has gone up on some parts so probably closer to $4800 but absolutely under 5k

I don’t understand why the machine shops around me want $700 for balancing. Also I can’t find a shop to just balance just the crankshaft. I asked them if they would balance to the bob weight I give them. I told them that they are not responsible if the bob weight I give them is wrong. Just as long as They balance to the bob weight I provide, but nope.
