Yeah, I had a little WTF moment when reading the supplement to the manual. Drop the limiter by 250 rpm when the oil's cold.. hmmm. I've set my "tach light" at 5000 rpm as a reminder not to go nuts when it's cold.I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they put out a TSB with a tune that brings the limiter down from 8000rpm to something more sane like 5000rpm when the oil isn't up to temperature. I think this is, what, at least the second if not third report on this forum of a likely OPG failure from not being warmed up.
Good luck my friend. Those of us that have had engine failures can feel your pain. Be patient. I personally introduced my self to the tech doing the work and briefed him on what I expected. Also he allowed me to document the process. Maybe once the tech meets you and you build rapport he/she will be much more careful with the removal/install. Oh! and have them order all one time use hardware before install like the clutch bolts.I'm nervous about who will be doing install, I would prefer ford send out a specialized tech skilled in this area as opposed to Joe tech six pack.
I would also ask the dealers parts department to make sure they are ordering the correct bolts. According to my tech, my engine swap was delayed about a week because they ordered clutch bolts for the 5.0 GT and not the GT350. Apparently they are different.Good luck my friend. Yes! Completely different clutch assembly.I would also ask the dealers parts department to make sure they are ordering the correct bolts. According to my tech, my engine swap was delayed about a week because they ordered clutch bolts for the 5.0 GT and not the GT350. Apparently they are different.
Why is it always the OPG !??Yeah, I had a little WTF moment when reading the supplement to the manual. Drop the limiter by 250 rpm when the oil's cold.. hmmm. I've set my "tach light" at 5000 rpm as a reminder not to go nuts when it's cold.

The pictures of the failed OPG come from a guy whose GT failed. The OPG shown isn't a GT350 OPG.It's a GT350... look at the gauges and plus he said it was a "tech pack".
