The problem is not the gearbox but its tuning.
Find a specialist and get the engine and transmission tune adjusted in conjunction.
Here in Germany there is at least one company that can tune the 10R80 better than Ford, I'm sure there are several in the US.

Btw. if you want a sporty GT, you have to go for the 10R80, the MT82 is not a sporty transmission in any case.

This thread is bananas. My 10R80 rocks in my 2018 GT. Maybe the OPs supercharger tune or whatever is running amok on the trans. Either way this is the Mustang forum, to celebrate the S550, not bash it for being subpar. Maybe go buy a different car or find another place to spread negativity and create dissent.

Why I agree partially, we need to acknowledge the faults so Ford can strive to be better. What I am concerned about there isn't any real competition anymore. There are fans and there are fanbois. I am a fan and I can appreciate other vehicles attributes. After all we did put our money where our mouth is.

There's critique, and there's being critical. This original post offers no "how can I improve it". It's just §ĥ!ťťÿ. The OP isn't claiming it's broke, or offering an improvement. He's just stirring the pot and being douchey. And now I'm unfortunately part of it.

Expecting something to be something its not is dumb. Accept what it is and work with it or cut ties and move on.
Congrats, you cracked the code on why your auto only cost $1600 more over base, compared to cars with PDKs that start at double the Mustang base price.

What I've learned in this thread is that most of the people on this forum are intelligent and helpful. However, a few never climbed the evolutionary ladder and are afraid to read something negative about a car that does not belong to them, from someone they don't know.

As for economies of scale, that is the EXACT REASON that this transmission can afford to be as good as a PDK. Porsche makes good stuff, but they make a few percent of the volume that Ford and GM make. Therefore, the extra cost in engineering and manufacturing will easily be absorbed by the vast increase in volume, and therefore revenue returns.

do you think this improves any of the indecisiveness of the trans or abruptness of the shifting when driving normally?
Also, how involved is the installation?
A search under Suncoast on this forum doesn't fill me with confidence about this Valve body.

Well, you’re comparing a full automatic to a dual clutch transmission that costs as much as our cars. A dual clutch, especially the PDK and the Tremec in the GT500, will outperform the 10R80 by a wide margin. What kind of reaction did you expect?

it does give a much smother shifting experience in 'normal' mode. Doesn't 'hunt' for gears. As for installation, it's not for the novice, that's for sure. Pretty involved.

It's a very good valve body. Despite what you read on some forums.
