@fast306stang "so I'm assuming the car was ran hard...like all Mustangs are."
That's just not the case. There are a lot of garage and trailer queens out there. Lots of older (70 and 80+ yrs old ) owners that gently use their cars.
But yea, long tubes and short shifters.... pass.
Thanks Mav. My main concern is getting it to look like it was never off the car after I'm done. I'm concerned about body alignment issues. Sounds like it goes back on pretty straight.
I put 36k on this car. 2018 GT premium auto. Had one issue with the intake manifold around 28k or so, but it was covered under warranty. Car didn't even have the BBQ tick.
Nice about your parts. The GT500 is great. I don't drive it as often out of paranoia. About 2500 miles per year or so. It's heavy and thirsty but really fast sturdy. I need to start putting more miles on it.
Hopefully you saved the original spoiler/wing. That's unique to the PP2. Surprised you might want to go lower. These cars are pretty low as is. Getting in and out of a lowered car gets old... if you drive it often. The GT500 is gone? Yea, for the street, that car is plenty as is IMO.
How was it getting the front end cover off that? Seems like a lot of work. Any drama or just time? Looks like you got it back together perfectly. I have to replace the lower grill and apparently there's no way to do it except taking the whole face off.
Hey. Thanks for asking. No. It's been raining alot today since then unfortunately. But I did spend some time admiring it. It was nice to see a few people chime in about enjoying their cars today.
I did apply for the GTD though. 🤞
I think they'll be collectible for a couple of reasons. #1: Attrition. Lots of people crashed them running around on the sport cup 2s in improper conditions. People also modded and chopped them up pretty good to customize them. Not that doing that is some sin, but it lowers the factory original...
