So just a bit of a sanity check while waiting to hear back from tuner.
Newer tune, as well as new car to me, but said everything looked good outside of a first cold start almost always dies.
Had some registration issues and couldn't drive the car. Had to change out the whole front pulley system, as a failed pulled shredded the belt and took out another pulley as well. Got everything back together, and FINALLY got the registration done on the car. Took it down to Cordova Dragway to finally put some numbers down to see how it was, especially as I had gotten my drag pack in. Granted the prep was pretty bad for test and tune.
First run was 12.8S @ 115. Fine. Fluke, getting used to the car, and first ever pass on the tires. Bogging like hell, but the prep was minimal, with even procars struggling on the '60.
- A few runs between were very similar but shaving tenths. Having owned many coyotes, I noticed at the second run...the car was pulling strong, but felt like...well just a regular coyote. Felt like there was no boost.
- So checked, and the bypass seemed to be working fine at idle, and was closing at high tip in as you would expect?
- So I dropped the 555R2's to about 18 psi, and went back up to run a bone stock S650 GT. She had just bought her car, and we chatted. Ran against her (Timeslip 333 vs 97 (me)). Ran a nearly IDENTICAL run to a bone stock GT, she was actually pulling on me into the 8th. 12.42 @ 117 | 12.44 @ 115.
- Final run and I logged this for tuner, as at this point every run was making stock GT numbers but best of the night (if you want to call it that...) 12.27 @ 116.7.
Are there any things I can check while I wait, or any common things with the TVS2650s? It FEELS like the bypass is just stuck at open, but when I have the wife throttle, it's closing as it should. What else in the VMP system could cause? I've been looking but seems most the info I can find is regarding other systems, centri or Whipple.
Thanks!
