Sound tube delete. Help needed

Just received my PP2 kit from Summit (missing the throttle body hardware, but thats a different story). There is no way I am gettting my hand down in there to plug the hole, so I'm not sure im going to be ripping the tube out as my car sits outside and would not want any water ingress. Has anyone just capped it off at the picture shown? Seems to be a much simpler solution, and if so what exactly did you use? Thanks for any help and info!

Its not too bad. I put the plug in, and I am 6'3" 285#. It was a pinch but I got it done... Took a bit of contortionism And absolutely make sure car is COLD

You can easily plug the hole from the inside. It’s just behind the gas pedal which is very easy to remove

I was out there for a half an hour. There is no way my hand is fitting down there with the strut tower assembly. I do not want to remove the assembly due to fear of snapping off the studs (read too many horror stories). I would rather just cap it off at the halfway point. Seems way easier

I think you can use one of those rubber covers that are meant for the bottom of chair legs to cap it.

I blocked mine at the firewall. Its doable, just tedious because there isn't much room. I didn't want some ugly things hanging around in the engine bay. I figured I'd get rid of it once and for all

I’m a big guy with big hands. I have the strut tower brace too. Once that tube is out you have room. I stood alongside the driver side facing the front bumper. Reached down with plug in right hand, lubed with Vaseline and was able to shove it in place.

i did loosen the tower brace and removed the engine cover, but didn’t have to mess with the steel cowl support.

I was able to plug mine with the strut bar and cowl brace. Tight fit for sure but very doable. I’m not a small person either. Facing towards the rear of the car, go in with the left hand. That was the easiest for me and I’m not left handed.

I was able to do it with my left hand, facing the back of the car. To much body English required for right hand.

I’m a big guy too. I took a long piece of tape and stuck the back of the plug to the tape. Then just the the tape dangle down until the plug was at the hole. At this point simply slid my hand down and pressed the plug into the hole. Easy piezy.

I had a difficult time with this too. I was able to access the firewall bolt from underneath using a 1/4 ratchet and a U joint. I then was able to remove the tube and get my hand into position to press the firewall plug in from the top... Not easy, took 10x longer than I thought but I patients paid off in the end.

I did what you want to do. I capped it there as in your photo and at the air intake tube. Works fine, less hassle. I used rubber cane/crutch tips. Saved the removed section to replace if I sell the car.

I will be doing mine in a couple days. I heard things are much more accessible from below when your car is jacked up. Wouldn't that be the easiest way?

Literally took me 2 minutes to plug it from up top but if you’re already under the car it should be just as easy. I didn’t even bother to remove the bolt holding the sound tube to the firewall, just give it a good tug and it comes right off.
