Help needed with knock sound

Whats up guys this is actually very embarrassing to admit but it happened.

Was driving in sport doing a pull, tried going up to change to drive accidentally went into reverse for a split second...

nothing happened instantly but a couple min down the road started hearing a knock.

is the car done for?
Scanned it with OBD and no knock sensor codes

How fast were you going? I wouldn't think the clutch would even engage at speed. I would expect clutch/transmission damage before engine damage. Did your revs go through the roof when it happened? Does reverse still work?

ive showed 2 mechanics the video and they said it sounds like lifter/valves?

thats them going based off sound, all shops near me are closed for the weekend so I have to wait

Sounds bad to me. How many miles? I think it may be time for a crate engine replacement if the car is still in great shape. Does the sound change when in drive or reverse? Sounds like cam/lifter or rod. :(

I would stop driving it till you can change the oil/filter. You will also need to cut open the filter to inspect it. When you pull the dipstick how does the oil look/smell?

I'm amazed the auto box let you go into reverse. I remember watching myth busters try it and they had to remove many safety features of the box to allow it to shift and nothing untoward happened to gearbox or engine. That above however sounds very damaged

I'd be surprised if it actually went into reverse. The shifter may have but the transmission actually doing it would have been catastrophic on a bunch of levels. Things like the wheels locking up, uncontrolled skidding, being violently pitched forward loud screaming noises from the engine and transmission, that kind of stuff. It wouldn't be anything that you would have to question if you F'd up.

get a long screwdriver and put it up against ur ear and touch the engine to find the sorce. do a oil change and look for metal in the filter/oil. first steps.

Sounds like a top end noise, not sure how doing what you did accomplished that though.
