I also used the procal later on to change my speedometer to match my new larger tire diameter, my firmware updated but it did not change the original tune or adjust anything extra, just refinements to the procal itself.

Did you reflash the tune after the firmware update? While I don't think Ford can change actual tune parameters, by looking around it seems they can include software fixes for random things, besides just improving functionality.

Not saying it did anything useful of course, I just wish they would publish what's changed

Send us a stock read of both files and I'll tell you what they changed.
Is there a way without using something like pcmtec or hptuners? I currently don't have access to either but I will pick up your guys product one of these days, seems quite useful

I came back to play around with this again. I got a new gasket for both the adapter and the intake manifold, and new bolts for the throttle body (m6x45mm). I had suspicions i had maybe stretched those included bolts from the 900+ times doing that or the gasket was overworked and not sealing correctly.

On top of that, maybe it's just me, but my procal got a firmware update which is something I've never seen before. When I flashed, there was now 95 changed data points and I swear it was 94 before. So they must have changed something. If only there was a changelog....

So far, the car is working much differently (in a good way) than in the past. I used to get a harsh off throttle jerk, now it's as smooth as stock. Haven't noticed any of the usual noises yet, although it was only in the 60's today. We'll see of course, but first impressions are very positive.
Let us know how this pans out when the ambient temps hit 80. Curious because the tune was good until it got hot.

I did notice the 35 thing on just updating the procal recently and saw it was doing some strategy tune update as well, the files on my procal still look same. so did you then just plug it in to the car and it have some notice pop up? Was the process you took by just returning it back to stock then reflashing or just flashing the latest FP tune on your procal over the existing FP tune in the car?

Yeah, we'll see lol. Usually I'd already hear something in the 60s when the head gets over 210, but nothing yet. For what it's worth i don't expect perfection given i could reproduce the noise on the stock tune, it was just less common.

In my case I was stock when I flashed so it was just convenient timing. But you can just reflash the performance cal at any time if you want to see if anything is different for you.

I know it's still relatively cool out, but man this car has never been faster. Fuel trims were dead nuts too at 0.78% for both banks. I think I definitely had a sealing issue before, since trims were always higher than this. The original adapter gasket was also incredibly flat compared to my new one, so that's interesting....Of course, doesn't mean it's fixed, but it's very promising so far.

I‘ll admit I did not read all 180 pages but did search and I am interested in this kit. I have a 2020 GT PP1 car and wondering if this throttle body is the same as what I already have? I am also interested in the kit because I am a California guy and cant tune. My 10speed auto is a little rough on some shifts and I am reading this kit can help with that. Car only has 7k miles on it i just bought it a few months ago and it’s not my DD. Can anyone advise if this is worth it for a PP1 car?
I installed this kit yesterday and finished downloading the tune and took it for a spin before dinner… verdict: I instantly knew it was worth it as when I drive out of the neighborhood on a cold stat motor; the A10 transmission is jerky and twitchy. I could barly touch the throttle or it would lurch the car. The program smoothed it out over the whole band. For that alone it was worth it. I definitely feel the torqe down low. The sound changed a little deeper (I have the factory valved exhaust). I can definitely feel the power difference and I am very pleased with the results on my short 15 mile drive.

I have left the engine cover off and doing some painting on the ford engine dress up kit for the engine bay. Heading back to the hardware store to get some blue paint for the letter and hopefully a steady hand.

I do have two questions: the new throttle body is clocked to the left or counter clockwise a few degrees. I dont see how it’s unavoidable but wanted to check to see if that is how it’s supposed to be. Also, how do I get the stock and performance tunes onto my laptop to save them in case the pro cal takes a dump? I can only see them when my pro cal is plugged into the laptop and I am logged on to the ford website which requires inputting my voucher code each time. Or, is that just how it works?

FP Tech support got back to me and confirmed that there were no updates to my calibration file and said it was just service and feature updates to the ProCal device only, no changes have been made to my tune since 2021. they told me not to try to reflash.

Good to know. Did they give specific details on what the ProCal updates did?

If you send in a stock read via PCMTEC we will make sure multitune and Custom OS is available.

Do you guys do legit real Flex Fuel Tunes?
PCMTec aren't tuners, but their software allows for proper activation of Ford's flex logic in the mustang, and the option to add an ethanol sensor and incorporate into it the flex. Both of these are unique to PCMTec.

Mike explained it above concisely. A tuner can use the OEM flex logic via the level of parameter mapping we have in our software OR you can use our custom OS flex fuel logic which can be made as simple or complex as you like. This can also use a real time flex fuel sensor in the fuel line, or be user adjusted via the cruise control buttons.

Many tuners offer flex fuel tunes using our software either via user adjustment or via a flex fuel sensor.

The workshops doing the most flex fuel tunes to date are all listed on the page below. There are however many others (DIY and smaller shops) who have our software which are more than capable of creating an excellent tune (Mike for example).
