I debated this quite a bit.
I'll start with the 19x10's and move in that direction down the road if I feel the need to.
19x10's are already ordered, so just need tire opinions.

In 285/35/19
Eagle F2 SuperCar 3R $353 per
Toyo Proxes R888R $344 per
Nitto NT01 $426 per

in 295/35/19 (5mm spacer required?)
Falken Azenis RT660 295/35/19 $353 per
I only have experience with the nt01.
Love them, last forever and do not heat cycles out

Any experience or opinions on NT05 for HPDE in this thread? it seems to be more streetable version of NT01 with certainly less grip, and potentially better lifespan, but that's just my guess so far.

If you already have NT05, sure they'll be fine. But if you're looking for new tires, look elsewhere. Much much better options out there

PS4S is not a track tire. You want a friend with USAA membership and buy Supercar3 or 3R for 25-30% off. My SC3 in 285 were 850 delivered. SC3R in 305 was ~1000.
@TundraOnKings Let me know and I'd totally be down to help with this.

3R is the fastest street tire out there. Perfect for time attack but horrible for HPDE because they will be toast in a weekend

R888R are decent for the price but are more geared towards straight line grip rather than lateral grip

NT01 are arguably the best HPDE / practice tire. Good grip, last a long time, very consistent

RT660 is also time attack tire. Not as fast as 3R, probably last a little bit longer, but still not recommended for HPDE due to short life span

If you're looking for a beginner track tire, I would recommend Supercar 3 (non R). Plenty of grip, plenty of life
The Toyo RR is a very beginner friendly slick as well. Not nearly the fastest but you can get a set of 295/30/19 for under $1k
Awesome! Thank you so much!
Supercar3 (non r) sounds good, NT01 in 2nd, with the R888R coming in 3rd (for my application HPDE).

I’m headed to the track right now - with the stock Michelin P4S’s - dangit! Lol

The PS4S will be fine too. They don't have as much peak grip as the Supercar 3 and they do get greasy after awhile. My gripe with any Michelin tire is they are all overpriced compared to their competition.

What's annoying about the NT01 is the 18" version is over $100 cheaper per tire. So in my opinion, if you have 19" wheels, Supercar 3 is the best HPDE tire. If you have 18" wheels, definitely try to find NT01's

Pretty embarrassing day. I ended up putting 2 tires/wheels (passenger side) into the dirt on the yellow flag warm up lap today (tires were cold, and I completely underestimated cold grip) I have zero excuse besides the fact that I need more experience and guidance from drivers better than me. I was driving the same track exactly the way I did with my DD Lexus a few months back, and the S550 in track mode is an entirely different animal than a GS350 with 150 less HP and different dynamics. Needless to say, learned my lesson very quickly. Throttle application with this car, will take practice, amongst many other factors.
I look forward to learning this platform for the better, and trying not to become another YouTube click for shitty driving.

Most important to learn and become a better track track driver is to have the right attitude and obviously you have it. So be patient, mistakes are part of the learning curve and remember that speed is a byproduct of skills

Humbling experience, that’s for sure. I plan on trying to attend as many instructor based courses as I can. My Lexus seemed faster in the corners, although it was appx same speed as S550, but controlling the power is incredibly different. I need lots of seat time, and patience.
