That's interesting, I wonder if for that particular scenario sport+ would be a bonus ? (But you have kind of got rid of that option by making all your modes linear)

WD :like:
Yes when I use s+ in the eco the rev match stab at the pedal is faster and bigger rpm change for comparatively small throttle pedal movement. In normal mode the stab has to be bigger/deeper.

In the gt I always use normal so my ankle is calibrated to provide the necessary pedal travel.

But yes 3-2 requires a bit more than all other combos. This isn't a problem with the d5 trans. Pox on Ford for changing the trans in '18

I'm glad there's another sport+ guy ... :like:

Judging by some of the comments, I was getting a little paranoid that there was something wrong with my car and / or my belief that I was actually driving the car smoothly whilst using that mode ... :giggle:

WD :like:

Note : sport+ is my default mode in my M6, its set as my mymode which I toggle too as I'm driving out of the street. Perhaps that's the difference when compared to driving in normal all the time, and then switching to sport+ and thinking WTF ... lol ?
you just got used to the fake snappy engine map that deletes the top end of your gas pedal.
its not impossible or even hard to use its just not as good. you're shortening the effective mechanical travel while adding a dead spot at the end of it.

its just dumb.

Of course. But I think we're talking rather of driving on the street in Track mode than on an actual race track.
I drive mostly in Normal due to the quality of our roads, but I keep the steering in sport all the time because in comfort or normal it feels too soft and disconnected to me, as if it were a game console, not an actual car. It feels like drive by wire. I like the feeling of a good old hydraulic rack. Sadly, that feeling is gone forever, we'll never get it back, but at least the Sport mode comes just a little bit closer.

6M Mach 1 for reference. One thing that no one has mentioned is the amount of anti-stall/electronic throttle input provided in different drive modes. In Normal and Sport+ it’s near impossible to stall unless you just side step the clutch. In Track you don’t get any assisted throttle inputs so you need to be more deliberate from a stand still. Normal and Sport+ feel similar in terms of throttle mapping. Track is linear so it feels sluggish in comparison. A good way to really feel the different mappings is to go 50mph in 6th gear and slowly roll into the throttle; you’ll notice right away. My favorite is Track mode, but that’s for the suspension tuning, and linear rev counter more than the throttle map 🤷🏼‍♂️

WD, I think that makes 3 of us that prefer Sport+ to Track mapping (or whatever the accurate term is to describe the difference).
SPORT+ is the shit. :like: 16K miles daily here all driven on SPORT+.

Really? I feel a big difference in throttle mapping between Normal and Sport+.

I am fan of the anti-stall/electronic throttle input, really nice when you are in traffic or when you need to inch forward.

Ya, you’re right. Normal is noticeably tamer than Sport+. I usually start in Normal until temps are up and then into Sport+/Track depending on the road and traffic so I only know Normal below 4k lol

As soon as I turn my car on I toggle to Sport + lol

Maybe I was imagining things but in my eco, Track (modest throttle) had softer power delivery than Normal but was more eager to pick up revs. And the turbo pressure/vac more quickly hit 0 or light boost with less pedal in Track.

I didn't instrument anything yet so take with course ground salt.

You can't change what mode it starts in but you can compare the different drive modes and copy tables. You could also potentially change the indexes to make normal track and track normalalso

@Vlad Soare the auto cars have that same “feature”. If you pop it into neutral and touch the pedal it’s very sluggish and doesn’t rev freely. If you want, you can log torque request, etc source, torque source, desired load, and desired airmass and that should point us in the right direction. I bet we can improve it.

At the end of the day, our MyMode is the most non customizable “custom” mode. All I want is to be able to have track suspension, with tc active, and lighter steering. But no, you can’t divorce the steering from suspension (except in normal because… logic) and you can’t have the firmest suspension without reducing TC below normal which I would argue is already too lax. My buddy is flabbergasted at how much the car lets slip before intervening. Maybe that’s just the PP2 additional tuning, I don’t know.

Throttle blipping for rev match and general clutch/throttle coordination.

You drive a slushbox so missing out on that joyful activity.

D5 or D4 doesn't matter
I have a manual transmission and use sport and track all the time. I have Magneride so I only turn it off when the roads get crappy.

I recommend turning off the Rev Matching, them see how you like it.
