Heavy clutch chatter is another indication of possible worn clutch, as the unit ages the flywheel gets glazed, warped or the clutch is damaged. Also high horsepower puck style clutches do but I doubt you have that installed. Sound like clutch replacement will fix it. Based on your comment on...
Its pretty easy to notice when its going out. Like others said feels like rpm climbing faster than the car. My S197 had 130K miles and the clutch was fine, if you know how to drive it correctly should last over 100K easy.
That being said, the stock clutch and shifter is usually to blame for...
Its actually the opposite, if there is air in the line clutch pedal is really soft or drops down or sticks. Just like your brakes do when there is air in the system. But everything else you said is right.
At OP does pumping help disengage the clutch to be able to shift? if it does that will be...
Sounds like a clutch problem to me, either way even if the Tranny has issues the clutch is #1 thing to replace with a better unit to avoid the 7K rpm lockout and other shifting issues common to the MT82. As mentioned shifter is a pile a trash as well, I would recommend MGW.
Mine has done it randomly since day 1! Currently at 20K miles, runs like a champ. My 1st gen made similar noise and got it to 130K trouble free miles, I don't worry about it. Coyote is noisy by nature..... Just send her to redline and she loves it.
+ That is in no way, shape or form engine...
Oh so you are one of the unicorns? Maybe I should switch to motorcraft full-syn. I have always used the synthetic blend and all my Coyotes have ticked as expected. But I might just do it for research purposes.
Minimal scrape with stock ride height and splitter. Once you learn to angle you are good BUT having said that if I lowered it I would need to learn some skills from the hella flush ricer crowd.
Congratz! Beautiful ride, looks just like mine :like: . The Mach 1 HP is something else, it is not a common Mustang you will get lots of attention from folks asking what it is. Enjoy.
Also the Supra is boosted ofcourse it will respond better to a tune, if you slap a whipple on the Mach 1 its...
I am not going to get into the performance aspect of it. But I will share my positive experience with these slotted rotors below when I upgraded my GT to Brembos on my S197. They looked awesome and were quiet and never warped. (This was a daily though).
I suggest you don't link the "tick" to the timing chain. If that was the case over 90% of Coyote has failing timing chains LOL Also this person claiming to have maintained means nothing, can't make a decision on a single occurrence.
My 1st Gen coyote ticked from day one all the way to 130K...
That is one of the advantages this expansion tank has compared to the Steeda one. You have to twist the cap million times to get it off to check the fluid level on the Steeda one.
