A stiffer front bar, with some toe in will help with the corner exit balance. One thing not noted with my 600/750 rates is I use a big 38mm front (one step from full stiff) and a 25mm rear bar (mid setting). I run 1/8" toe in and about 2.4deg camber in the rear. 325/30/19 CRS tires, rear sphericals, stock camber arm. I tried reducing rear camber, but that actually hurt mid corner and exit speed.

My car will go neutral to slight rotate as I come on throttle in 2nd gear. Its about 20-30% throttle then rolling in as lateral Gs bleed off. This track video has 5 2nd gear corners with apex speeds around 40-50mph. Its making 0.2-0.4gs accel while cornering and about 0.6gs peak when straightened out.

Where are you getting into second at ECR??? I don't think I've ever gone that low with the 6 speed, I'd be impressed if you're that low with the 10 speed.

The DCT uses 2nd gear all the time in auto mode. So I worked the suspension setup to use it. 2nd goes to around 72-75. Also gets more engine braking to help with corner entry.

Added a normal ECR 2.7 CCW lap video. Lots of 2nd gear usage. The DCT programming loves using the revs, always boiling 5000-7500.

GT500 DCT gears are a little weird and the shift logic is aggressive.

This is along the lines of what I've been thinking lately.

With fresh tires the car did great but I'm on a 36mm front at full soft and a softer than stock rear bar. Moving to lower rates will aid in putting power down, but going up in bar should retain the dynamics in cornering and transition.

Ugh, helmet cams are the worst :p
Yea sadly my exterior mic adapter died and didn't pack the adapters to run the camera on the front windshield so I had to run it on the helmet to get any audio at all.

Well that was fun. Won 3rd at Nats and nearly picked off the 2nd place Camaro (missed by < 0.05s)

Competition in CAMC was very close, aside from Schotz walking away from every one of the other ~650 Tues/Wed drivers by a lot.

My last Nats was 2022, and it felt like the class had gotten stronger. The S197 boys showed well.

The car worked well. I wasnt super confident in my driving on Tuesday but had a blast on that East course. Wednesday was probably going to be wet and somehow dried up just enough for the Vitours to be competitive. I think they may get a bum rap for temperature sensitivity but it wasnt all that cold this year. I really liked both courses. Both were very exciting to drive.

Gt350 rpm + tremec 2nd gear + OS Giken 3.73 really enabled nearly flat out driving without shifting.

@kpmfuelsystems KPM1000 didnt fuel starve once, although I kept it at 1/2 tank or more just to simplify the pre race to-do list.

If you’ve never been to a Solo Nats its a huge party most nights. The best clubs host various parties in padock most nights. JXB throws down /hard/ and Spokes Big-Wheel Pro Solo was awesome. I had to leave early for personal reasons but most of my club friends are wrapping up tomorrow.

Congrats. The 5.0 stickers on the side still crack me up, like it's a sleeper.

Congrats on getting back to Nats and accomplishing third against those pesky Camaro drivers.

Your front aero looks sick and makes me a bit envious.

Any in car video to share?

I wish Nats was like 2 weeks sooner. Being the first week of school for the kids makes my participation impossible.

Im maybe considering rebuilding the splitter this winter for the 3rd time to the new rules (wider on the sides) and adding some more contouring/depth to the bottom edge like a GTD or Ford GT

Day 1 - East (vid is a little dark, need to fix the exposure and re export)

Day 2 - west (posted to the my other account whoops, but the link works)

Ive been struggling with putting power down. Some days/courses it feels great, others its all a struggle to dig out of slow corners.

The best the car has felt was 550/700 springs, Redrilled front bar, disconnected rear bar.

It took a while, but I finally got a big front bar. 35mm steeda 4pos bar, initially set to 3/4 and connected rear bar. This seemed to understeer more on entry and oversteer more on exit.

Today I tried a big change. I dropped rear spring from 700 down to 450, dropped front bar from 3/4 to 2/4, and connected rear bar. The big change was to see if the spring was the cause of inability to "dig".

The course I tested on was our small lot so things were slow and tight. That didnt really lead to the expected understeer to hurt much. Accel zones It maybe helped a bit, but wasnt really the solution.

I think the next test will be less rear camber, -2.5 down to -2.0, and more toe-in. Right now at 0.3deg, about 1/8" at the tire, or for home alignment folks 2/32 at the rim lip. I'll increase that to 3/32. Also going back to 550/700 and removing rear bar.

EDIT: This run, if during comp, would have been good for 3rd raw, 3rd pax. Top 5 pax drivers being national champions. Not bad for CAMC pax with only wheels, last years tires, and coilovers.

Yeah it will be curious to see if the camber is part of the issue. Keep us posted.

that looks like there is really no weight on the inside rear tire. Good luck figuring it out. My car does not behave like that. Do you have a bunch of rear shock rebound or something goofy?

I have the MCS 2WNR (non-remote) and for this they were set to -10R/-10C.

One thing I need to do is wire the HS2 CAN to a jumper so I can log wheel speed through SoloStorm. Im not 100% sure what I need to do yet, but I think this will help know if Im just lighting up the inside tire and overloading the outside laterally.
