I made a new thread here (motorsport section) about it, but thought I'd add some info to the CAM searchable thread.

I found the Mach1 uprights don't actually change anything related to lower mounting and geometry, but do add 7.5mm inner wheel clearance. They're also only about $100/side on ebay with ABS sensors and wheel bearings.

I just swapped one side and checked wheel clearance to the MCS strut body with my Apex 18x11.5 +50 and 315 A052s, they need 25mm spacers for -3.5deg camber. I have some spacers ordered because I don't have stock here right now to make custom versions but it looks like fender clearance will be just fine.

Next week I'll take some pictures with the clearances. Need the car back running for the following weekend to test in Packwood before Packwood Tour/Pro. I wont be running the mustang at the Tour but might have others drive it. I should be in it for the Pro though.

Basic setup is pretty mild and soft.

MCS 2WNR w/ 450front and 550rear springs
SSB designs prototype upper mounts
Apex 18x11.5 +50 wheels (20.25lbs)
Last years 315 A052s (Take-offs from my XA Evo)

Planning on going, got a Monday Evo slot.....
Also will try to do Pro (if I can get in as tier 3) or if not, the shootout (when I went to St. Louis it turned out that the way this event ran was bit different than previous CAM challenges and I completely skipped reading the rules).

A little break in the Solo Nats reg, which I wont make this year, got my start in the CAM build.

Settled on 14" wheel center to fender all around. Which is lowered 1.25f/1.5r in suspension and with the diameter from stock to 315s, -1.75f/-2.25 from stock.

Spring rates are 450/550 with natural frequency at 2.2f/2.0r.

With the MCS coilover ditching the divorced spring, I made an upper mount with a 3rd point that prevents the rocking back/forth. I think its the fatigue from bending back and forth causing stock sheet metal failure so this should both support more load and help prevent the tear-out. Of course bottoming out is going to always cause issue but thatll be important to make sure is not a common event.

looks good, shocks good, wheels and tires good. Hope it runs good.

i’d go a little stiffer but I know the 450 front springs will feel good.

needs aero though :)

Yea ive been compiling spring rate options to change up my setup at some point and looking at something near Vorshlag's GTS setup and Nitrons Road setup.

• Vorshlag's GT Spring Package is 450F/550R
• Vorshlag's GTS Spring Package is 600F/700R
• Vorshlag's GTR Spring Package is 800F/1100R
• MRR street enthusiast 400F/600R
• MRR gt4 spec 700F/900R
• MRR gt4 optional 750F/1000R
• ISC Coilovers 504F/784R
• Nitron road 628F/658R
• Nitron track 799F/1028R

Thanks! My Evo is so much stiffer and lighter (800/1450 with similar MR) that we wanted to keep somewhat tame on the Mustang. But if 450/550 feels too soft after a while I'll bump up to 550/650.

Still need to do a toe alignment here but excited to take it for a spin. Week after next we'll take it to packwood to test drive and see how she do :)

Love that upper mount design. Great job! I'm an aerospace engineer and I appreciate a good load path.

Rear Ridetech coilovers come with a different than OEM style mount that requires drilling as is IMO a decent attempt at solving the issue. They have pdf installation manual available that has the details.

Don't think I'm ready this year, but hope to get a little more time under my belt and come out next year!

First year is usually a wash for most people. There's a lot to get used to for an event this size.

So just offering some encouragement to come out even if you're not 'ready' because the prior experience will help when you *are* ready.
