Forgive me, Gentlemen, for I have sinned. There's not a damned thing wrong with my engine, but there's another one on a palate headed my direction.

I should go from about 350 Hp at the wheels to about 500. This is an example of the power curve for the turbo I've used. My engine has some advantages on this one, but it'll be something like this. Bottom end should be good for 600 hp and it's got a road-race oil pan/Windage tray.

There are still a bunch of ancillary parts for the project, but I've got the lump. That's a start.

Yeah, but how many cylinders?
Just 4. The BMR front goes in with it. It might be a bit of an issue making the mounts I have work. It's converted drag-racer stuff. I've got some inventing to do. The balance shafts are out entirely, and the clutch/flywheel are getting lighter. The combo should pull close to 70# off the nose, but my aux fueling and bigger turbo will add a little back. Let's say ~60# off the nose when it's all said and done.

Once running well on E85, I should see a gain of up to 150 HP and 130 lb ft. over what I have presently. It should be fairly frisky for a parking lot warrior.

Well, lost to a 4 cyl turbo this last weekend by .6. Granted it was driven by a pretty decent driver, its an absolutely wild car.

Great to meet the owner and driver, and got to learn a lot about the car. Lot's of work put into it, and its one of those fun Optima Challenge cars, and they came into town to do some testing/tuning.

For those that know the driver, you understand my understatement above (I don't think Austin or Robert are on the forum). :cwl:

Damned hard to make up for that massive lack of weight on the nose. Always good to be around the fast ones and try and learn a little from them.

I'm fb friends with Robert - he doesn't hesitate to post on what he's doing to the car (which is always interesting to read).

I almost missed the course walk because him and I were trading notes on the DSC, and the platform as a whole. The guy has so much information on how the DSC works, it's astounding. He's likely forgotten more than I know.

Obviously, I think this is the way to go for a cone kIiller. It's really cool to see what they've been able to do. I'd like to have you guys drive an Eco that's been made into what it can be. They're a lot of fun.

I was wondering why Fletcher was talking car setup and posting pics of your car :). I was like oh no he bought another one.

I hit a local track today and ran CCW (so lots of long lefts). I posted in the engine thread, but is it even possible that I’m fuel starving at 3/4 tank on tracks? That seems unlikely, but power is definitely cutting out after sustained left handers. Thing is it feels like it doesnt event take that much. Going right, the car is strong every time.

E85, 98k miles, 1.3g lateral loads.

Didn’t seem to happen with the car cool and with a full tank, but after only a handull of laps it would get pretty bad. A break and a fuel top off and I could get a few uninterrupted laps.

I know the GT S550 only has a fuel pickup on the left drivers side, and its fuel starved at 1/4 tank many times before, but 3/4 tank? Really? This happened at the final corner to the finish on the east course at Nats and also in the big left sweeper in the middle of the course.

I’m just not sure what to do. Its one of two problems I must fix this year. I know the 350 has two pickup. Does the M1 as well? What about the ā€˜24 models?

Should I be looking at a fuel cell or something? Im at a loss.

Can you put a Y in the pickup and tack the ends down to the middle/center of their respective sides?
