Well, you might be too young to remember, but this is a common issue. Before there was the HP Mustang Mach 1 option, there once was a Pontiac brand car called a Trans Am. This is back in 1977-81. Anyway, there was a WS-6 package on the Trans Am that also was larger wheels, tires, heavier springs and sway bars. We didn’t have EPAS. We had steering boxes. Some had higher effort and quicker ratio. AKA the WS-6 box. Everyone with a Formula Firebird or “base” Trans Am who tracked swapped out for the WS-6 box.

Just would worry me with all the electronics that go into these cars these days it would throw a code or act weird. I’d love to know otherwise but I feel there’s no way to know until someone attempts to swap them :(

I’m still going to enjoy the car, maybe even more so now that I know I’m going to just stick with it as is and not touch anything, for me that’s almost peaceful.

IMO it stops me from how much I wanna touch with mine. Completely changes my plans really. I’ll likely get wheels and tires and call it a day, rather than get crazy with swapping springs, sway bar, etc etc from the HP. I’d rather keep it all original and have better resale.
People change wheels and tyres on mustangs to 1" wider all the time on GT's etc. There are no problems on Mach 1 either. No need to worry about this.

We didn’t get the factory HP option over here, but I have not had issues in the two and a half years since I put all the HP parts on my car, if that helps.

I’ve also retained all the original parts so I can put it back to stock if needed, should I decide to sell.

Swapping the springs and sway, wheels and tires, and not doing the EPAS would be just fine.

The car wont explode. It will be exactly like it was before but with stiffer spring rates and wider tires.

People overthink how critical it is to have exactly the same OEM tunings for the suspension. Its just not that sensitive. A little stiffer or softer, a different swaybar balance, the car will perform fine.

If that wasnt the case then anyone who put all-seasons or track tires on a car whicj shipped with summer tires would suddently experience horrible side effects and thats clearly not the case.

If you want to do HP mods, go forth and do so with confidence. You cant really make a mistake with some basically boringly mild changes to the springy bits and aero bits

My car is also completely HP swapped. There is no issue doing it, but if you want HP parts only just get a factory car. I did the upgrades to mine during the early 2022 shortage. I have a build thread m here search M6150.

Can someone share the part code of the center dash trim for Mach 1 HP?
I want to get my European spec non-hp mach 1 to the US spec M1. So far I managed finding most of the hardware meaningful stuff, or better than the HP Stock, but the dash trim and gauges I can't figure out the correct part number. Honestly, I saw there are gauges showing oil temp and oil pressure, which are much more meaningful on a track focused NA car, than "boost"....
So if the car doesn’t originally come with the gauges which it sounds like it does not, it’s a bit more invasive than just swapping the dash pieces. I could find a thread on how to do it though if you’re willing to go down the road.

Would you mind sharing the HP EPAS part number?
Non-HP cars are equipped with PN: STE806 (LR3Z3504S)
HP cars are equipped with PN: STE836 (MR3Z3504D)

I saw this as well and wanted to believe they are interchangeable but I suppose that isn’t the case… I also checked with Ford Performance but don’t have a screenshot of that, he said they likely gave them a different ratio.

For me I suppose it’s not so much if it’ll explode or not, rather why should I chase a package I can never truly replicate down to the electronics and everything else. If it had just been the hardware as originally thought for a long time it seems, sure I’d go down the path, but for me it’s easier just to enjoy the car as is than halfway replicate the package if that makes sense. Not knocking anybody who has or will, but that’s my personal opinion for my car and situation. Trust me when I say I’m a bit disappointed to find it out.

This is interesting.
For a 2023 Mustang, only STE-806 is applicable—STE-836 does not extend into 2023. Probably Covid part shortages.
