seems like finding a good low mileage HP mach1 is a bit of a task. Anyone converted their non HP mach into a HP mach? Did it perform exactly the same?
From my understanding on previous threads this is all there is:

wheels/tires
Springs
Camber plates
Sway bars
Aero bits (bumper, wing, wheel guards)
Alignment

am i missing anything before i find a non Hp and turn it into one?

Personally, I would go above the hp and tailor it to fit your needs with better equipment. You can get a Mach 1 or a Mach 1 with the hp and still make them better for whatever you are wanting to use it for.

Marginally different spring rate and rear sway bar imo, on mine it’s not even something I’m considering changing, but did add the aero bits.

Cosmetically you’re looking at the lower HP splitter, front wheel arches, both of which come in a kit. For the rear you’re looking at the rear splash guards, which can be found as a kit exclusively from Levittown ford parts with the correct hardware I worked along side them to confirm. You also are looking at the GT500 swing if you want it, but you’ll have to have it painted to the paint code of the factory PP2 wing the car will come equipped with.

For the other bits as I said you’re looking at front and rear springs and the rear sway bar. I can dig out the part numbers on those if you’d like.

Then the camber plates you can add too by ordering the Ford Performance ones.

The OEM wheels and tires you can find from Ford too or other online dealers. If you want to find a different set here’s all the ones you can fit.

Any other questions let me know and welcome ;)

It’s all bolt on accessories. Enjoy. It’s the most adaptable Mustang made. Why they didn’t just make the kit available to VIN holders is simply a missed opportunity for Ford.

It actually makes 0 sense they don’t have it as a kit.

I think someone isn’t too bright over there, and I would hope they’d fix that on behalf of owners and shareholders.

I know we talked about this in another thread, but I was thinking about what I want to do with my MBA and I was thinking working for Ford is something that’d interest me a lot. Maybe could help them get in touch with what the people want… 😂

Thanks for the help everyone. Been a while since i drove a mustang. The community heres very helpful. If i find one at a good price then adding the Hp myself is totally doable
Yes!! My thought was get the color paint and interior I wanted, that stuff is all hard to add in some respects, the HP bolt on parts are easy!

Much easier to add aero and suspension bits than the Tremec. One of my favorite Mach video reviews from when they came out was from a guy from Australia who drove a PP1 and a non-HP Mach on a track. You can see how the cars handle through turns to appreciate how much of an upgrade over a PP1 the Mach is, and that buttery transmission with the tight ratios seals the deal.

Why in some older threads do people say the non-HP and HP cars have different magneride calibrations, etc? The consensus I thought was is this is not the case and it’s merely bolt ons.

I went back through my notes.

In one brochure, Ford lists the GT PP car as having, "unique chassis tuning". The Mach 1 is listed as having, "unique Mach 1 chassis tuning".

Specific to the Mach 1, attached are some of the physical differences between the HP and base models.

Are the Magneride calibrations different? I think so, to take advantage of those component characteristics.

I'd expect different calibrations for GT PP, Mach 1 base and Mach 1 HP.
