Same experience here, HP springs made little to no difference in my ride height-itās within margin of error. Itās an often repeated myth-especially on the Facebook groups. I also donāt consider HP springs worth the effort, not much stiffer and still too soft. A lot of people are missing the...
This is incredibly close to the same setup I'll be running (Steeda DR springs and their comp sway bar kit with the softer rear bar) and tire size. What front and rear bar settings have you used? How do you feel about the rear spring rate?
Do you have an idea how much rake there would be? I'm considering doing fronts only and keeping my HP rear springs. Looks like my HP rears are 742#. I have Steeda camber plates up front and was debating doing front Steeda DR's and using their 1/8 or 1/4" spacer to negate the front drop.
How's the ride on bumpy roads? I have the dual rates sitting in here in a box, but recent threads and posts have me concerned about the rear being too stiff. FWIW, my wheels and tires are almost identical to yours-19x11 SVE SP2's all around.
I've considered them, but really not ready to go that hardcore. At that point I would probably go MCS coilivers. I'm also not looking forward to installing the toe link bearings, but I know they are a huge bank for the buck.
I just ordered the caliper garage kit as well. I did my own alignments on my ā94 Camaro B4C which I auto crossed, but a solid rear axle made it much easier to do toe.
They know that the springs are different. I did not see a .4ā drop on my car going from std to HP springs. Thatās a fact on my car. I think Iām one of the few thatās had both on the same car. Regardless Iāll post height difference when I install my dual rate springs next month (or possibly...
I think Steeda is more than aware of the difference considering the number of Mach 1ās they have built. Now my car has had both standard and HP springs installed and I had no difference in ride height. Iām getting ready to install Steeda dual rates next month (just arrived yesterday).
āso if you have a Mach 1 HP, and you want a stiffer front above the 5% larger diameter, you need to use the front (stiffest) mounting hole.ā
The Steeda front bar is one of the stiffest front bars made for the S550 so driving it full stiff on the street is overkill. You donāt have to be that...
I donāt get what you mean all this work? Itās spoiler, splitter, fender molding, springs and a sway bar. The actual HP parts were installed in a weekend (minus the spoiler and splitter), the rest are upgrades. For instance I wouldāve been dropping the rear subframe anyways to install the...
The build thread isnāt dead, I just took time to drive the car and enjoy it. I finally gave in this morning and ordered Steeda Dual Rate springs. These will be going on along with the Steeda competition front and rear sway bar kit with the adjustable softer rear bar. I shouldāve installed these...
Finally gave in and ordered Steeda Dual Rate springs. These will be going on along with the Steeda competition front and rear sway bar kit with the adjustable softer rear bar. I shouldāve installed these instead of HP springs. Hopefully this will fix how incredibly soft the HP suspension is...
I'll post pics later, but it doesn't really look different than a factory optioned car. The springs and sway bar change were underwhelming, noticeably stiffer, but not by much at all. The HP springs are still super soft. I should've gone Steeda DR's or BMR GT350 handling springs. Anyone that...
My Steeda competition front and rear sway bar kit was on back order when ordered during the sale. The bars finally arrived on December 23rd. Cannot wait to get rid of the excessive body roll.
