Lowering Spring Install Cost Estimate

Hey guys. It’s been 15 years since having a set of lowering springs installed on a Mustang. Since recently purchasing a 2017 GT, I have acquired a set of BMR Performance lowering springs. I am located in southern Georgia, and I am wondering what the average going rate is for a shop to install a set. I know I’ll have to get an alignment. And yes, I have searched this forum for answers and what threads I have found are several years old. Thanks.

I paid $450 including alignment. I lucked out finding the shopping; all other quotes were $700-1200. I am in Augusta.

I’m in South GA as well, and Steeda quoted $400-450 (can’t remember the exact amount) to do the spring install and alignment. I ended up doing the springs myself, but took it to Steeda for the alignment. Alignment alone is about $125-$150 if I remember correctly. That said, there is definitely value in having a shop do it because you can take it back with any problems.

You might want to be labor cost efficient on the labor and replace the dampers at the same time.

I’m in the northeast, Philadelphia specifically and have a quote from a reputable high performance shop for $800 including alignment. Their pricing seems to be at the top levels, $120 a hour. I’m having a few other things done that I could more than likely piece meal at different shops or local mechanic and save several hundred dollars. Im hoping they estimate on the high side and possibly it could be a little cheaper when completed. I hate to think their estimated costs are on the low side and it ends up costing more. Always a dilemma...

I'd also suggest getting a camber kit along with the springs. I made the mistake of listening to the retailer saying a 1 inch drop "shouldn't" require them. When I went to replace my front 2 tires passenger side had excessive wear on the inside and the driver side was showing cords. I put plates on at that time and adjustable bolts in the back.

Depending on your situation, I'd also suggest considering doing it yourself. You can probably borrow or rent a spring compression tool from a local auto parts store and it's really not that difficult to change out. I've done it twice and now you know why it was 2X
