Jack stands for winter storage?

For those who store their car for the winter, do you use jack stands?

My car is my daily so I can’t speak from experience, but if I were storing for the winter I’d get flat stoppers from race ramps.
This is what I did last winter. No flats spots observed.

I always have stored my cars from December until around April and always leave it on the tires, have not had an issue yet.
Same here, put the toy away, disconnect the battery, put moth ball bags on each tire, cover and unwrap in April.

It's like a big boy Christmas every spring.

I always overinflate the tires when I store mine to help prevent flatspots. Don't exceed the max pressure on the side of the tire. I also plug in the battery tender. One last thing, I try to make sure it is totally clean, and I have at least 3/4 of a tank of 93 in it before I put it away.

I add fuel stabilizer to the last tank in the fall, run it enough to get the stabilizer circulated into the injectors, and park it. I've never noticed any issues with flat spots. No extra efforts needed.

My 1999 F250 sits for long periods sometimes and I have noticed flat spots on those tires. I just drive it for a few minutes and the tires roll smoothly again.

I think probably the F250 stiff suspension and hard E load range tires is why the issue is more noticeable there.

Thanks for the feedback. There does seem to be a clear consensus.

I have had problems with tires flat spotting on my old BMW when I stored it for the winter (wearing Eagle F1s Asymmetrics). I never overinflated them for storage though.

I also stored my Mustang last winter on its tires (but did overinflate them). Again, I definitely noticed some amount of flat spotting, but it seemed to dissipate after a few days driving. Maybe I will look into tire cradles.

I store my 2011 5.0 from November 1st - mid April (ish) every year since 2016. It was my DD before then (see winter driving enjoyment pic below….. yes, I’m insane). My storage regimen each year:

- Thorough cleaning inside and out
- Oil and filter change
- Full tank of 93 octane (zero ethanol) and a bottle of Stabil
- Two Arm & Hammer fridge/freezer boxes to keep the interior from smelling funky
- Bag of moth balls to dissuade the critters (never had an issue)
- Plug into the battery maintainer (I have one that does discharge/charge cycles)
- Tires inflated to max pressure (48psi); never had a flat spot problem (Michelin AS3’s)
- Park on thick carpet mats
- Cover
- Gaze longingly for the next six months

My "good" car stays in the garage from December until mid-March or later. I toss moth balls all around it and put on a battery tender. That's about all. I have never had a problem.

There's no reason to put it on jack stands.
I agree. We're talking about a 3700 lb. car, not a 6000 lb. Tesla X (my friend has one and his tires flat-spotted so the dealer "warranted" them out as a favor but told him he had to store it on special jack stands made specifically for that vehicle, about $300 a pair and they wouldn't warrant it again). I think our tires will be fine; I'll find out this winter as it's a first for me.

Stands, Why most of the changes, mods are done while it is off the road. It being on stands makes it easier to do things under it. Including end of driving season oil change.

When was the build date and when did you buy it? It has been sitting there, on someones lot, for that amount of time.

Is it going to sit for three months or are you going to park it for 30 years?

My car sat in the Dealers lot for almost 9 months before I bought it, in 125F degree heat. I should be panicking, shouldn't I?
